This Spring these here are somewhat premature!
Meconopsis cambrica, the Welsh poppy, is a perennial flowering plant in the poppy family Papaveraceae.
It is a native of damp, rocky sites in upland areas of Western Europe from the British Isles to the Iberian Peninsula.
The plants can grow between 30–60 cm (12–24 in) tall. It blooms between May and July.
The flower is distinctively yellow or orange with four petals, and coarsely hairy green sepals that fall off soon after the flower opens.
The flower’s stigma has seven distinct lobes radiating from its centre. The ovary positioned beneath the stigma.
It spreads easily from the numerous small black seeds produced in the summer, from a long, ribbed capsule that opens with flaps.
I have wild yellow poppies in the garden, they are the most ephemeral of flowers.
Everything has to be ready before you bring them in, bang, a few photographs, this one lost a petal along the way immediately.
I put them in water, in no time the pretty heads hanging.

Stuff your peppers with taco meat, rice, beans, corn, whatever. I make it a bit differently every time, depending what I have on hand. Sometimes I use the crockpot and let them slowcook for hours and other times I use the Instant Pot electric pressure cooker.

Radio Kootwijk stond al jaren op mijn Bucket-list en eindelijk is het er dan van gekomen.
Na anderhalf jaar weer een dagje weg met fotovrienden. Het "normale" leven begint langzaam weer realiteit te worden.
Het Art Deco gebouw van Julius Luthman is indrukwekkend, zowel van binnen als van buiten.

08.09.07 : House Special Chicken : $9 : One of my all-time favorites...that wonderful combination of thinly crispy skin topped with slices of garlic...and the sauce...great on rice too...*drool* Ok I am making myself hungry now...dammit..
06.28.07 : Tres Hombre with Bar-B-Que pork, Texas Beef Brisket (sliced) & Bar-B-Que ribs + Honey Hush Cornbread, Cole Slaw and BBQ Fried Rice : $17.95 : Talk about meat overload. Haha! My favorite was the brisket. MMmmm...soooooooo tender....and for some strange reason, I was really into the Fried Rice. I thought it would be made with the BBQ sauce, but it's just sauteed with pieces of pork.

IJzeren voetbrug met hek uit 1898 over de gracht aan de noordkant van het kasteel als korte verbinding met de Dorpsstraat vanuit het kasteelpark. De brug bestaat uit twee ijzeren liggers met dammetje halverwege waar de ijzeren brug overheen gelegd is. Balustrade bestaande uit dubbele vaasvormige balusters, onderling door staven verbonden.
Red-tailed Hawk. I'm surprised I got this much of the bird who was down in the culvert on the opposite side of McCarthy Rd.
I got up as high as I could on the drivers seat to improve the angle.

I have a ton of pictures of these bumble bees. At first I thought they were dead as they did NOT move when I got close. (I was trying to be so brave and get as close as possible). This one had it's head stuck deep into the flowers. I will be posting others of the bees....bear with me, please!!
