Looking down the chute at the Yellowstone River as it flows downstream of the falls at Inspiration Point. What a gorge this river has carved out of the yellow stone. While not as much of an epiphany as standing on the edge of The Grand Canyon, I'm always filled and thrilled with similar amazement and awe standing on the edge of this smaller canyon.

My enthusiasm for poppies reawakens every year. I heared about this location near me, and I was thrilled. I can now visit and photograph the poppy field whenever I want to and shoot in different light conditions.

Infusiasm = enthusiasm for infusion.
This little tea infuser is definitely fit for purpose. I was fixated on coffee for about 24 hours and then switched my choice for the MM theme at the eleventh hour. Actually, it is quite literally the eleventh hour - well past and catapulting towards midnight. So enough with the babble and on with the brew. HMM to you all!

During my recent sojourn in Newcastle, on the Sunday I took a bus from the city-centre to the Beamish Living Museum for my first ever visit - and immediately regretted not having made the effort to go before.
A fabulous and enthralling place to spend time not only because it brings the area's late 19th / early 20th century industrial and social history to life, but also down to the knowledge, enthusiasm and generosity of the volunteers and folk working there. Highly recommended, I'll be going back.
This shot was captured in the mining village.

Large white cockatoo with a spectacular plumed yellow crest and dark bill. In flight it often misses a wing-beat with short glides between regular flaps on broad wings. Often erects its crest immediately upon landing. Occurs in a wide variety of woodland habitats, including parks and gardens. Calls include extremely loud harsh screeches lacking any musical quality whatsoever. (eBird)

I had never expected to see these large cockatoos everywhere in Australia. Walking around in gardens, in woodlands, at the ponds, there were cockatoos. This one is part of a gang that was in a territorial dispute with some corellas (a smaller, white cockatoo). The partially raised crest is a warning to others.
The rain certainly did not dampen their enthusiasm for arguing and sharing our lunch. A few days later, though, this section of the park was underwater due to flooding.

**I took some time last night to read what I could on the lives of each of the children and the teachers who died in the Uvalde Texas massacre. several of the news media posted pictures and short stories.
the children were born and lived with families who loved them for the short 10-11 years they were here. I thought it was the least I could do to celebrate their lives. I did the same with the 2 teachers.
it was hard reading and I cried a lot but it was my small way of honoring them and their families.
I would like to think that I'll never have to do this again.
I worry about the survivors. they saw things no one should have to see, and they are just little kids.

As a follow up to the shot below I have been visiting the pair of swans and their 8 cygnets at least 2/3 times a week trying to obtain shots of the cygnets growth !
I had been feeding them in what would be the near bottom left-hand side of this photo ' when the Cob (Male) Swan just drifted away in the direction of the far side of the dock where they all often either roost, rest or just preen out of the water ! Drifting in the water as he waited for his family the low sun reflecting on the water caught my eye and whilst he is not quite as dark in shadow as I would have liked, I don't think the result is to bad for a 300mm telephoto' shot !

Totally lost my pho-joe at the moment really struggling to get out with the camera. I hope to be going down to Bristol next week maybe that will kick start my enthusiasm again. Here’s a beech lined footpaths in Hertfordshire to walk down in the meantime, taken last month.

I had a less than perfect experience the last time I worked a night sky in this local desert area, so I had been pining for awhile to give it another go. I did, and I had a satisfying midsummer evening all to myself, under the stars. But - it was the 3-hour drive home that was something I won't forget. I barely caught the lit-up blinking caution freeway sign. What did that say?? Did that say "frwy closed ahead"??!! Drat, I was into the stopped traffic, never had a chance to exit. So there we all sat, for 2 solid hours, creeping a few feet at a time. No way out, trapped. You know what I worried about - what about restrooms?? Why didn't I stop and uh do that before I got on the last leg of the road? Nah, it's just another hour to home. An hour that became three. Needless to say, I haven't been out at night since. Kindof squashed my enthusiasm and now the Milky Way "season" is pretty much over till next spring. However, I do have a new lens to try out … maybe next week.
The viewing public will always disagree over the intrinsic merits of a particular photograph, but no one can deny the enthusiasm that originally inspired us to capture and offer that image to others :-)
