Enschede by night

The Twente Canal runs from Eefde (near Zutphen) via Hengelo to Enschede, with a branch to Almelo.

The Roman Catholic cemetery has existed since 1922 and belonged to the Redemptorist monastery. The municipality took over the cemetery in 1980 and since then the cemetery has been closed.

Light show in Jacobuskerk in Enschede, the Netherlands

The spectacular light art route through the city center of Enschede took place from 14 to 17 December 2023. This year's theme is "Here and Now".

 

In the beautiful Jacobuskerk, visitors can enjoy a magical light show designed by emerging talent Michiel Kruger with custom-composed music by students of the ArtEZ conservatory.

The Grote Kerk is a church building on the "Oude Markt" in the centre of Enschede. The original church dates from the Middle Ages, but underwent extensive changes in the 19th century.

The church is built from Bentheim sandstone.

This light show, called the "Magic Church" took place in the St. James Church.
