In Andorra, there are many Romanesque churches, each one more beautiful in its style.
This one, is perhaps one of the smaller, with a disproportionate size tower of the church itself, but I like it.
Apparently, and although no written record or documentation, was built in the twelfth century with some later additions. At that time, there were no architects, only craftsmen who built without plans or computers. Only with a few bars, a plumb bob and a squad, built buildings able to withstand without muss thousand years, since I have no record of any restoration.
I have already taken my way, because I remembered that I had already photographed it, when I remembered that the last pictures I had of the church, were still analog and I have no idea where they stop, so I turned around and went back to pull a few from different angles.
This is the one that is more descriptive, as the vegetation, due to the high temperatures of this December, still retains most of its foliage.

En Andorra, hay muchas iglesias de estilo románico a cual más bonita dentro de su estilo.
Esta, quizá sea una de las más pequeñas con una torre desproporcionada por el tamaño de la iglesia en sí mismo, pero a mí me gusta mucho.
Según parece y aunque no hay constancia escrita ni documentación, fue construida en el siglo XII con algún añadido posterior. En aquella época, no había arquitectos, solo artesanos que construían sin planos ni ordenadores. Solo con unos compases, una plomada y alguna escuadra, construían edificios capaces de resistir mil años sin despeinarse, ya que no tengo constancia de restauración alguna.
Ya había pasada de largo, pues recordaba que ya la había fotografiado, cuando recordé que las últimas fotografías que había hecho de la iglesia, aun eran analógicas y no tengo ni idea de donde paran, por lo que di media vuelta y volví a tirar unas cuantas desde diversos ángulos.
Esta es la que me parece más descriptiva, ya que la vegetación, debido a las altas temperaturas de este Diciembre, aun conserva casi todo su follaje.

Sant Miquel d'Engolasters is located near the village of Engolasters at 1,504 m, dominating the entire valley of Andorra. It was probably erected in the early 12th century. The bell tower is very slender and large compared to the rest of the church. It is 17.5 m high, has a square base, and is crowned by a tiled roof.
Ya había mostrado la ermita de Sant Miquel d'Engolasters, en Andorra, en alguna otra imagen. Por tanto, no presento esta imagen como novedad de maravilla arquitectónica, sino como muestra de ideas para composición y variaciones de encuadre.
Debo decir que mi idea era darle la vuelta a todo el perímetro de la ermita, como hago casi siempre cuando fotografío arquitectura... Más aún si se trata de arquitectura histórica.
En este caso, el trabajo era sencillo porque la ermita no es grande y está rodeada de jardines y de la carretera, asomándose a la cual, se puede observar una interesante y hermosa vista del Valle donde se alza la ciudad de Andorra la Vella, capital del pequeño país del Pirineo.
Y es esa misma caída tras la carretera quien me dió la idea para la composición de esta imagen.
Mientras regresaba al coche, pensé que la ermita podría ser una excelente referencia visual en primer plano para mostrar como fondo las montañas que rodean la ciudad. Es decir, que entre esa perspectiva vertical estricta de la ermita y la montaña seminevada del fondo hay varios kilómetros de distancia.
Me pareció una buena muestra de perspectiva, composición y encuadre vertical.

El lago de Engolasters es un lago en la parroquia de Encamp, en el país europeo de Andorra. Tiene una altitud de 1.616 m (5.302 pies). Formado en una depresión glacial se encuentra cerca de Andorra la Vieja, la capital de Andorra.
El agua del lago es de un azul profundo y es drenada por una cuenca formada por las sierras de los Pirineos, que están cubiertas de nieve. El valle formado por los ríos que drenan la cuenca ofrece una vista maravillosa, con prados verdes y bosques ricos de pinos cerca de la periferia del lago. La fuente de agua del lago es de los ríos Valira del Este y Madriu.

In the church of Engolasters you could see faithful reproductions of its romanesque frescoes; the original ones are now preserved in the MNAC, Barcelona.
The tiny romanesque church of St. Miquel d'Engolasters it's one of the most beautiful in Andorra, and indeed in the Pyrenees, thanks to its beautiful bell-tower. It was built in the XII Century.

La Destral de Cerdà is located on the Font de la Closa de Engolasters path (Escaldes-Engordany). The sculpture is by the artist Josep Cerdà. The piece was built in 2003 with fiberglass, marble sand and steel. The sculpture evokes verticality and wants to encourage the pedestrian to look up. The sheet of the piece was manufactured following the model of the wings of an airplane and it had to be calculated that the surface had the right resistance so that it would not fall down with a gust of wind.
La Destral de Cerdà se ubica en el camino Font de la Closa de Engolasters (Escaldes-Engordany). La escultura es del artista Josep Cerdà. La pieza fue construida en 2003 con fibra de vidrio, arena de mármol y acero.La escultura evoca la verticalidad y quiere incitar al peatón a mirar hacia arriba. La hoja de la pieza fue fabricada siguiendo el modelo de las alas de un avión y se tuvo que calcular que la superficie tuviera la resistencia justa para que no se tumbara con una ráfaga de viento.
