The bridge connects parkland 40 feet below the bridge deck with the eastern bank of the Scioto. Located in the Midwest, the design is for a two span (350-foot each), 700-foot total length by 14 foot wide pedestrian bridge. The bridge deck is “S” shaped in plan with a radius of 500 foot and is anchored into the earth at the embankments." Am 15. August 2021 fand ein Besuch des Labska Damms in der Tschechei statt. Der Tag war sonnig mit Temperaturen bis zu 23 Grad Celsius, ideal für eine Erkundung der beeindruckenden Staudammanlage.
Der Labska Damm, auch als Elb-Stausee bekannt, liegt im Riesengebirge an der Grenze zwischen Tschechien und Polen. Er ist Teil des Flusssystems der Elbe und wurde in den 1970er Jahren erbaut. Die Hauptaufgabe des Damms ist die Regulierung des Wasserstandes der Elbe, um Überschwemmungen zu verhindern und eine konstante Wasserzufuhr für die Industrie und die Trinkwasserversorgung sicherzustellen.
Die Bauarbeiten am Labska Damm begannen 1968 und wurden 1976 abgeschlossen. Der Damm ist etwa 2,5 Kilometer lang und hat eine maximale Höhe von 60 Metern. Die Staumauer staut das Wasser des Flusses Elbe und bildet einen großen Stausee, der sich über eine Fläche von rund 2.200 Hektar erstreckt. Die Wasseroberfläche des Stausees kann bei maximalem Wasserstand etwa 8 Millionen Kubikmeter Wasser aufnehmen.
Der Labska Damm hat nicht nur eine funktionale Bedeutung, sondern ist auch ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel.
