'Last Sun' and 'First Light' is a series of photos taken on Dec. 31, 2022 and Jan. 1st, 2023.
On both days, I used a fixed camera setting to take the photos, resulting sometimes in over- or underexposure.
It is interesting how the fixed settings (aperture, exposure time and iso) reflect the mood, lightness or dimness of the respective days.
'Last Sun' was taken with a 35mm lens, iso 100, f.8 and 1/60.
'First Light' was taken with a 70-200mm lens, iso 160 (400 for the darkest shades), f.4 and 1/200.
No cropping (3x2) except occasional 4x3.
Das alte Jahr erlischt langsam. Ich wünsche allen, nicht nur meinen Flickr-Freunden, dass es 2018 wieder strahlend erwacht und 365 Tage hell leuchten wird.

I really wanted to extend a special thank you and I love you to all my new and old Flickr friends. This year has been tough for most, if not all of us. This circle of friends we have created here, to lean on and gain positivity has really filled me with hope. It has aided me all through the hard times and is a sail for me to bring me straight into the new year. It is these little things we do for each other on here that can help make a difference in our mental well being. So again, thank you all for your friendship. Peace and God bless!
In between years we spent each day somewhere else to give our visitors a flavour of different parts of Devon. Despite the overcast grey look of the photo we were really lucky with the weather and did not have rain once during those days. So this is a bit of Teignmouth tristesse paired with a more dramatic processing.
The last day of the year,
Last sunset,
Last hours…
In anticipation of a new day,
A new year,
A fresh beginning,
I sincerely wish you a New Year full of happiness and prosperity, dear friends.
It has been a tough year here, the situation still ongoing, unfortunately. I hope it ends very soon.
I would like to thank all my genuine friends for their support and understanding. I’m grateful for that.
And, a message to hopeless sinners, who have hurt all mankind just to save their own beliefs.. STOP IT !!!
Try to make some sense of your existence.
If you can’t add any good to this planet, just keep it as is. It’s already a wonderful place!!!
We've just returned from Aix after picking up my new glasses. On the way back to the car we stumbled upon this exceedingly charming corner. The three trees and water fountain must make it a most desirable little oasis in the heat of the summer
Ich wünsche allen ein glückliches neues Jahr!
Happy new year to all of you!
This is from the end of Hanukkah. I love getting that picture of all the lights lit up! I want to apologize to all my faithful friends who have continued to follow me and comment on my work even when I have been absent the last several months. You guys are amazing and such a source of inspiration to me. Thank you for being such an encouragement to me even when I have been severely lacking in doing the same. As this year comes slowly to an end I find myself processing all the changes and transitions. Some of these I want to share because you have been an important part of my life. I posted a few times about my Grandma whose health was slowly declining as she was transferred into an assisted living home. This picture: www.flickr.com/photos/missinterpretations/32235077844/in/... received so many kind comments I remember tearing up reading all the kind words of comfort. My Grandma actually passed away last month. She was ready, so very ready. But still an emotional ending to the year. Thank you so much to everyone who offered me such kind comments and messages when I needed it most.
I found out I was pregnant earlier this year! We are expecting our newest little one April 12th. We are a big family and I LOVE it. I wouldn't have it any other way. But as my family expands and grows my time becomes more limited as well!
My mother in law received a much needed heart transplant this month - I am SO very thankful for this precious gift that has given her life, hope and future. I still cannot even speak of it without being overwhelmed by the sacrifice and miracle of this gift!
I lost a new and special friend this month to the same cancer that claimed the life of my dear sister in 2010. Although I only knew her for a short time Sherryne made a deep impact on my heart and to find out of her passing (also in the same month that my sister passed away) truly broke my heart.</3 Rest in peace Sherryne xx
So much has happened in my business and continues to happen, I am now standing here at the end of the year wondering which direction to take. I know that I am not alone in changes, gains, transitions, losses...Each of you have faced all of these yourselves over the past 12 months. What a year, what a ride! Thank you for listening to me, for giving me a place of comfort and friendship! I hope that your coming year is full of miracles, strength to face all trials, love to propel you forward and friends to keep you strong! Have a wonderful ending to this year and I pray and hope that 2018 brings you a host of miracles and light.
xx love always xx

I'm in the process of doing my year in review.... and wow was that a year... it was very intense, very much happened, also very many beautiful things..
The wedding, marathon number 3, my graduation, a lot more time with friends and family, a lot of time in nature... only the photos have come a little short, maybe there'll be more of them next year ;)
Anyway, I wish you all a happy new year and that your wishes may come true in 2023 :)

This is the end of 2012 and my last capture this year.
See you in 2013 - Happy New Year!
It's the silhouette of my hometown - a view outside my window at Dec. 29th.
By the way: the sky was not created with Photoshop paintbox. What you see is what I did see ;-)
And the end of the year is nigh...

Well, another year is successfuly done. What a ride it was! I've started to share my pictures with the world and it seems to be a good fun so far. Let me thank to all of you, who liked my pictures, commented and followed my humble stream. I will see you in 2017!
You can see me on Instagram as well! www.instagram.com/say_ps/
... and soon the end of another year. Where does all the time go?! Like many people probably, I've not had much time to get out with the camera recently, so here's another one from my late evening walk the other day.
Saturday I'm doing light refreshments before the reception for a friend's wedding, will have more time after that!
I save all of the dogs' Clarkdale license tags. When the year is up I stick the old tags into Floyd and Ivan's framed photos by the front door.
Today I got their 2011 tags and the 2010 tags joined the rest from years past.
Happy New Year, everybody!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday surrounded by friends and family, and that you had time to relax and enjoy the season. The holidays are just one of those times in my life when I am not able to keep up with everything, and everything seems to happen at a frantic pace. This week the dust has finally settled down a bit. The kitchen is littered with remnants of cookies and candy, the fridge and freezer packed to the brim with food, and it’s that time of the year again, that time when I think to myself: “I can’t believe the year is already coming to an end.” I seem to feel this way every December around this time, and I can’t help but wonder “Is it just me or has time somehow gotten faster?”

I hope to post tomorrow, but I am playing tomorrow night. I will be leaving in the afternoon to Guelph Ontario. The city of my birth. No irony for me. Happy New Years to all of my flickeroos. I truly love looking at everyones photos everyday. Stay safe. I will make sure to take a few shots of my new drum set.
