Had this popular bridge on my list for a while now, and this weekend I had the chance, because I stayed in Zealand. I got up for sunrise and made some shots at golden hour, only to find out that the foggy conditions that came in the midday, were far more rare and atmospheric. Since it was only a 15 minutes drive from my location, there was no way I could resist this scenery;)

Thanks for having a look! All faves and comments are highly appreciated!

The journey through an unforgiving land of ice provided little by way of sustenance. Therefore, Fimbul had to lean more heavily on his Warg at times, even requiring strips of its flesh so that he would not perish (never enough to kill or gravely wound the beast - for that would have meant death for them both). But don't suppose this resulted in any enmity or animosity between them, for In fact they were very much alike - both of them determined and duty-bound to do the necessary.

Southern Alps, New Zealand.

The Southern Alps (Māori: Kā Tiritiri o te Moana) are a mountain range extending along much of the length of New Zealand's South Island, reaching its greatest elevations near the island's western side.

The range runs 500 km north to south. The tallest peak is Aoraki / Mount Cook, the highest point in New Zealand at 3,724 metres (12,218 ft) and there are sixteen other points that exceed 3,000 metres (9,800 ft) in height. The mountains are cut through with glacial valleys and lakes.

The Southern Alps lie along a geological plate boundary, part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, with the Pacific Plate to the southeast pushing westward and colliding with the northward-moving Indo-Australian Plate to the northwest.

“ There are things that drift away like our endless, numbered days …

There are sailing ships that pass all our bodies in the grass …

There are names across the sea, only now I do believe … “

ENDLESS NUMBERED DAYS

Sea foam, sea glass

seashells, treasures

collecting driftwood

at our leisure

pebbles, stones

Mother of Pearl

amber nuggets

memories whirl

moonlight, sunshine

bare-foot walks

paddle, swim and

endless talk

smiles and laughter

escapades

secrets kept and

a promise made

waves and cries

of seabirds high

fishing boats

left high and dry

row of huts

and two, nine, seven

find the key

to seventh heaven …

Valley of Fire State Park is the oldest state park in Nevada, USA and was designated as a National Natural Landmark in 1968. It covers an area of almost 42,000 acres and was dedicated in 1935. It derives its name from red sandstone formations, the Aztec Sandstone, which formed from great shifting sand dunes during the age of dinosaurs. These features, which are the centerpiece of the park's attractions, often appear to be on fire when reflecting the sun's rays. Valley of Fire is located 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas. Title from the song of the same name by Tiny Harris.
