One Pouring Rainy Day in April (2008) while walking the promenade at White Rock Beach - I pondered about my own personal life; moving through a year of change and clearly it is a year like no other, an epiphany came to light for me (acquiring a piece of White Rock history).
I ventured into the White Rock Train Station (now Museum) and purchased a bronze plaque. This is my contiribution towards the beautiful City of White Rock (as the beach is one of my loves and my place of peace).
A plaque engraved with my personal incription (my thoughts while walking in the pouring rain). EMBRACE THE WIND-ADVENTURE CALLS!
Clearly I have been in a wind storm this year and I know that with the wind comes the unknown and the unknown brings a sense of adventure to the soul.
This is my message for those walking the seawall, or venturing through Flickr, a message of LIFE and ENCOURAGEMENT!

“You need to be aware of what others are doing, applaud their efforts, acknowledge their successes and encourage them in their pursuits. When we all help one another, everybody wins.” – Jim Stovall ~ American writer best known for his bestselling novel “The Ultimate Gift”.
Life is a team sport. The only way that everyone wins is if we realize that it is not just the coach who needs to inspire, it is each and every one of us. Too often we get lost in what we are working on, in the efforts that we put toward a bigger purpose. The problem is that the bigger purpose of which we should all be working for is helping others, and to do that; we cannot do it alone.
Competition is great; it is competition that spurs us towards wanting to create something better, to want to be something better. But it is in attempting to be better than others, that we forget what we are working for: to make the lives of those around us better.
It’s not about being better, it’s about working together. The best way to do that is to encourage others the way that you would want to be encouraged. I believe that we look only to leaders to inspire when it is really the group as a whole who can best spread joy and strengthen one another.
It is when we create a culture where everyone relishes in the accomplishments of others that we can accomplish anything, because we do it together. No longer must our attention be aimed at the one focal leader, instead; we should be focused on the group as leaders of action.
No matter what we create alone, whether we want to admit it or not, we do so only for our own accord, for our individual accolade. When we work as a team we work for the team, and in doing so, we work harder than we ever would have alone.
Inspiration is not intangible, we can feel it every time we are in its midst. It is that feeling when others have touched your life by showing you that they care not just for themselves, but for the group at large.
Encouraging the works of others is not just what’s best for the team, it’s actually what’s best for us as well. When we motivate others, we spread positivity and make those around us better. They in turn pass that on to those who they encounter and the positive cycle becomes infectious. We in turn are inspired by those who we applauded first, by those who we made part of our team.
Life is a team sport when we realize that everyone is working towards the same goal, when everyone is working for one another. Whose team are you on and who are you working for? I promise you that your work will become that much more inspired when you encourage the work of those around you.
