- Accurate white balance and very good color rendering.
- The S10+ camera is capable of capturing very nice images in bokeh mode,
simulating the shallow depth of field of a DSLR and fast lens well enough to earn itself one of the best scores in this category so far.
Isolation of the foreground subject is generally very good.

Here come real stars to fill the upper skies,
And here on earth come emulating flies,
That though they never equal stars in size,
(And they were never really stars at heart)
Achieve at times a very star-like start.
Only, of course, they can't sustain the part.”

Tiny lights shimmer and speckle summer nights. Why do fireflies never sustain a consistent glow? They flicker to and fro. I wonder if we are all like fireflies, an incongruous brightening and diminishing light.
How can you keep the light?
But seriously, you should check out the blogpost for an editing process GIF and detail shots: aleahmichele.com/uncategorized/light-keeper/
500 Brickell is a residential complex in the Brickell neighborhood of Miami, Florida, United States.
The complex consists of two condominium towers, 500 Brickell West Tower and 500 Brickell East Tower. The two buildings were designed as twin towers, and rise 426 feet (130 meters), with 42 floors. Both skyscrapers were designed by the Arquitectonica architectural firm and the complex was developed by Thomas Kramer's Portofino Group in partnership with the Related Group of Florida. The towers' construction began in April 2005, was topped out in mid-2007, and was completed in 2008.
500 Brickell was originally designed to emulate a giant arch. Both towers are connected by a 10-story base, and the top floors of the two towers are also connected by a large white roof. The roof was designed with a circular hole to direct light into the courtyard formed between the two buildings, where a large pool is located.

Emulate's Intestine-Chip allows scientists to grow human intestine cells in a laboratory setting that's still small and lightweight, making it easy to send to space. Studying how microgravity and the effects of space travel affect our intestines will help us keep astronauts healthy on long-term missions to the Moon and Mars.
The Intestine-Chip is one of several scientific experiments set to launch to the International Space Station on March 2, as part of SpaceX's 20th commercial resupply mission.

Emus have always fascinated me, and I never miss an opportunity to photograph them. They are, without a doubt, one of the most captivating Australian birds with a prominent place in Australian Aboriginal mythology.

Trying to emulate Karine Laval.
Her images seemed harsh and unpleasing to me. But with all art, I think, the longer you study and learn about the process and techniques used the more interesting it becomes and I really enjoyed using her style to emulate her work.
I based my image from her series called Heterotopia. In this series she used mirrors and glass to create space, identity, and perception and to manipulate reflective materials to create layers that convey different meanings, emotions, and to trigger the imagination.

Emulating the style of Robin Mead with her striking use of bright color is quite a challenge. This is my first effort. I created the background, and the beautiful bird is cybersurfed.

I've been wanting to take a photo like this for quite some time now. We've had a lot of rain recently in the central Texas area, so not only have the they been out almost every night in this muggy weather, I finally had a change to take pictures with them and the Milky Way.
A "Firefly" actually isn't a fly, but rather a beetle.
A chemical reaction within the firefly’s body produces the light. Scientists describe it as a "Cold Light", meaning 100% of the energy emitted is light. A very efficient creature.
With a lifespan of only a few weeks and the Summer heat just around the corner, the fireflies will disappear till next year be sure to look up at the stars and watch for the glow of Fireflies!
This photo is a blend on 21 exposures to capture the fireflies over the course of the night.

Gesù visse per trentatré anni,
facendo tutto per soddisfare Dio,
senza pensare a perdita o guadagno
ma solo alla volontà del Padre.
Il servizio del Signore Gesù
fu sempre in linea con la Sua volontà.
Era qualificato per compiere
il fardello della redenzione.
Sopportò un dolore infinito,
e infinite volte Satana Lo tentò.
Eppure non fu mai sconfortato.
Con fiducia e amore,
Dio Gli diede questo compito.
Se, come Gesù,
offrite a Dio tutte le vostre cure
e rinunciate alla carne,
Dio vi affiderà compiti vitali
per permettervi di servirLo.
E solo in momenti come questi

Fa' in Me ciò che Tu vorresti".

Mission: To emulate the style of an iconic photographer.
The photographer for this assignment is Harry Callahan. American, 1912-99
Harry Callahan took the majority of his photographs in black and white, on film. Some later work was in colour, but for this emulation, black and white is the preferred result.
For this assignment, you are also required to display a black and white photograph (if possible). This can be done on most digital cameras and tutorials can be found related to your camera by googling your query.
However you may take in colour and then convert to black and white if you wish - but be careful of the mode in which you do this, since you could lose the contrast you desired when you took the picture.
This site contains some interesting tips on converting your pictures.
www.northlight-images.co.uk/digital_black_white.html
Harry Callahan photographed the people and places around him. This was the world he wanted to understand and distil into a picture. He wanted to ‘see’ his world and understand it. He was influenced by Ansel Adams and his use of dramatic light and shade. I think, most of all, that he wanted to simplify and get to the essence of his world. This could be his partner, his daughter and the streets around him. Light and shade, expressions, lack of expressions – all were minutely noted and captured. His poses of his wife and daughter were not snapshots, but carefully posed (but not artificial or studio) shots when the light was right.
WIT:
This is now a used car dealership in a not-so-nice part of town.
Taken with the P&S so it is a little noisy
I spent sometime dodging and burning though it could use more. I actually dialed back back the contrast a little from my usual technique to get a slightly more film look to the shot - in the process I may have lost some detail in the brick, anyway,I'm not totally happy with this but what can you do?
1. which photo(s) inspired you; I like Harry's Building shots, he seems to be about the lines and angles and quirkiness, and as a result frames things very straight on/ flat.
2. what you liked and/or didn't like about Harry Callahan's style;
I love Harry's style - very straight forward - like "here's the world, here's what I saw".
3. your thoughts and/or thought process behind your assignment submission;
I wanted to find something with good lines that seemed like there was a quirk or story - this matched that criteria pretty well I though. I would have moved the fence lower in the composition if I could have found a higher vantage and the rottweiler were not there...
4. how your photo reflects elements of Harry Callahan's style;
I tried the be as flat int he framing as possible while showing the quirk int he building - I think the fence actually works with the overall look too.
5. what you gained as a photographer from studying Harry Callahan's work.
It made me think more about what I'm actually looking at instead of trying to find some dramatic angle letting what I was photographing tell the story instead.
6.What do you wish you'd tried that you did not? A portrait in the HC style. Maybe this week....
Emulating my friend Jabkdos. Sometimes in life you have to take decisions that are not easy to take ... This picture could represent what runs inside me.

I wanted to do a bright shot today but again the end result was not what i expected. Still doesn't look right but i have loads to do today and am out tonight so it will have to do for now. Sigh....

Please be sure to include (in addition to your usual WIT):
1. which photo(s) inspired you;
2. what you liked and/or didn't like about Harry Callahan's style;

A Hymn of God's Words
Emulate the Lord Jesus
I
Jesus completed God's mission,
the redemption work of all man
by giving His cares to God's will,
without selfish purpose or plans.
At the center He placed God's plan.
To heavenly Father He prayed,
seeking heavenly Father's will.
He would seek and He'd always pray.
If like Jesus you give
all your cares to God
and turn your back to flesh,
God will trust you with vital tasks
to enable you to serve Him.
II
He prayed and said, "God the Father!
Accomplish that which is Your will.
Don't act based on My intentions,
act so that Your plan is fulfilled.
Why should You care
for man who's weak,
who is like an ant in Your hand?
I wish only to do Your will.
Do in Me as You would intend."
If like Jesus you give
all your cares to God
and turn your back to flesh,
God will trust you with vital tasks
to enable you to serve Him.
III
On the road to Jerusalem,
Jesus' heart felt agonized.
Yet He kept His word, powered forth
towards where He would be crucified.
At last He was nailed to the cross,
became an image of sinful flesh,
completing work of redemption,
rising above shackles of death.
If like Jesus you give
all your cares to God
and turn your back to flesh,
God will trust you with vital tasks
to enable you to serve Him.
IV
Jesus lived for thirty-three years,
doing all to satisfy God,
never thinking of loss or gain
but the will of God the Father.
The service of the Lord Jesus
was always in line with God's will.
So the burden of redemption
He was qualified to fulfill.
Boundless suffering He endured,
and countless times Satan tempted.
Yet disheartened He never was.
In trust and love,
God gave Him this task.
If like Jesus you give
all your cares to God
and turn your back to flesh,
God will trust you with vital tasks
to enable you to serve Him.
And only at times like these
will you dare to say you do His will,
you complete His commission,
that you truly are serving God.
Eastern Lightning, The Church of Almighty God was created because of the appearance and work of Almighty God, the second coming of the Lord Jesus, Christ of the last days. It is made up of all those who accept Almighty God's work in the last days and are conquered and saved by His words. It was entirely founded by Almighty God personally and is led by Him as the Shepherd. It was definitely not created by a person. Christ is the truth, the way, and the life. God's sheep hear God's voice. As long as you read the words of Almighty God, you will see God has appeared.

Another attempt to emulate a photo by Berenice Abbott. Hers was taken in the mid 30's at Henry & Hicks streets in the then Lower East Side (now considered part of the East Village) and was titled for the location. That site was obliterated a long time ago. I found a similar view and perspective at Water and Washington streets in DUMBO in Brooklyn. I was not able to replicate the horse shit in the gutters and signs for 6 dollar-a-day rooms that Ms Abbott captured. I have, however, been able to add cars and middle class tourists to the visage..
