This weekend was the first real spring day we have had this year… the day was cloudless and warm, we took full advantage of it; starting with a twenty kilometer bike ride. After a short rest we put on our hiking gear grabbing our camera gear we made our way to the lake. The sun was just cresting the evening horizon as the day was waning into dusk. We smiled at each other and looked directly into the sunset enjoying every second of it. Because it felt so good to be outside without layer upon layer of winter clothing to protect us from the cold.
This photo of the setting sun from the other side of the lake only emphasizes the glorious scene we were beholding. A dead calm had settled upon the water, the surface of which was absolutely still, reflecting perfectly the distant shoreline bathed in the golden glow of the waxing sun.

I bought this from Neil Kerber (from Private Eye)- I thought it was funny.
I got an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in October. I think Neil Kerber probably offers one of these cartoons to everyone in the honours list that he can find an email address for. Anyway I liked it enough to grab the bait and buy it as a print. I will eventually find a spot on the wall for it! Nice to have something fun to remember the OBE.
Goodness knows when the inauguration ceremony will ever be. ...Sometime the other side of Covid for sure. ...looking forward to it.
