Der Göhrener Viadukt gehört neben der Elster- und Göltzschtalbrücke zu den eindrucksvollsten deutschen Brückenbauten aus der Frühzeit des Eisenbahnbaues. Sie überspannt das Tal der Zwickauer Mulde mitsamt der Muldentalbahn mit einer Höhe von 68 Meter, teilweise in zwei Etagen.Die Länge beträgt 381 m.
In addition to the Elster and Göltzschtal bridges, the Göhren Viaduct is one of the most impressive German bridge constructions from the early days of railway construction. It spans the valley of the Zwickauer Mulde together with the Muldentalbahn with a height of 68 meters, partly in two floors. The length is 381 m.

Die Elster (Pica pica) ist eine Vogelart aus der Familie der Rabenvögel. Sie besiedelt weite Teile Europas und Asiens sowie das nördliche Nordafrika. In Europa ist sie vor allem im Siedlungsraum häufig. Aufgrund ihres charakteristischen schwarz-weißen Gefieders mit den auffallend langen Schwanzfedern ist sie auch für den vogelkundlichen Laien unverwechselbar.
Die Elster gehört zu den intelligentesten Vögeln, und es wird angenommen, dass sie eines der intelligentesten nichtmenschlichen Tiere überhaupt ist.[1] Relativ zu ihrer Größe hat das Nidopallium caudolaterale der Elster ungefähr die gleiche Größe wie der funktional entsprechende[2] präfrontale Cortex von Schimpansen, Gorillas, Orangutans und Menschen.[3] Die Elster ist einer der wenigen bekannten Vögel, die den Spiegeltest bestehen, zusammen mit sehr wenigen anderen Nicht-Vogel-Arten.
Im von der nordischen Mythologie geprägten Volksglauben galt die Elster als Bote der Todesgöttin Hel, so dass sie in Europa den Ruf des Unheilsboten bekam. Als „diebische“ Elster war sie auch im Mittelalter als Hexentier und Galgenvogel unbeliebt. Im Gegensatz dazu gilt sie in Asien traditionell als Glücksbringer und die lange Zeit als Unterart geführte nordamerikanische Hudsonelster (Pica hudsonia) ist bei den Indianern ein Geistwesen, das mit den Menschen befreundet ist.j
The magpie (Pica pica) is a species of bird in the corvid family. It inhabits large parts of Europe and Asia as well as northern North Africa. In Europe it is particularly common in urban areas. Due to its characteristic black and white plumage with the strikingly long tail feathers, it is also unmistakable for the ornithological layman.
The magpie is among the most intelligent birds and is believed to be one of the most intelligent non-human animals.[1] Relative to their size, the magpie's caudolateral nidopallium is about the same size as the functionally equivalent[2] prefrontal cortex of chimpanzees, gorillas, orangutans, and humans.[3] The magpie is one of the few known birds to pass the mirror test, along with very few other non-avian species.
In popular belief, influenced by Nordic mythology, the magpie was considered the messenger of Hel, the goddess of death, so that in Europe it got the reputation of the messenger of evil. As a "thieving" magpie, it was also unpopular in the Middle Ages as a witch animal and gallows bird. In contrast, in Asia it is traditionally considered a good luck charm and the North American Hudson Magpie (Pica hudsonia), which has long been listed as a subspecies, is a spirit creature among the Native Americans that is friendly with humans.

Elstern sind sehr intelligente und neugierige Tiere. Sie verstecken ihre Nahrung für kurze Zeit in kleinen Löchern im Boden und müssen sich die Stelle genau einprägen, um sie später wiederzufinden. Gelegentlich jagen sie auch anderen Vögeln ihre Beute ab. Ihre auffälligen Nester bauen sie in Bäumen mit einem Dach aus Zweigen.
Im hoffentlich letzten Schneegestöber dieses Winters auf Futtersuche.

The river "Weisse Elster" flows through Elsterberg. The castle ruins Elsterberg are known here in the area. The castle can be seen above in the middle of the picture. It is the largest castle ruin of the "Vogtland". At the moment the castle is completely restored.

This lovable little duck was not bothered by me. She rested on the edge of the "Luisa" pond. Well, she did not need to go in the water, it was drizzling slightly. The "Luisa" pond is a beautiful little pond in the spa town "Bad Elster".
