Two small planets rotate on an elliptical axis without ever meeting. But in the evening, as soon as they realign at the closest point, if nothing else they can see each other, along with everything that divides them ...
A smallish tin with geometrical shapes in front of my go-to wrapping paper with good lines. It needed something else I thought and added a little wooden train carriage to pick up the colour red.
Two rather unusual lions at the gates of inner garden in the Yu garden in Shanghai Old City. The classic garden was first laid out in 1577 but has been subject frequent changes and suffered much damage over the years. It has been beautifully restored and is rightfully one of the main attractions of old Shanghai.
The lions still have the classic attributes -- the sphere and the baby -- but assume rather whimsical poses that I have not seen anywhere else (not that I would claim to be an expert on Chinese lions).

An Easter egg is an egg, eaten and used for decoration during the Easter holidays. The egg was a symbol of the earth to celebrate spring. It was used by early Christians as a sign of the resurrection (rising from the dead) of Jesus.
The use of painted and decorated Easter eggs was first recorded in the 13th century. The church did not let people eat eggs during Holy Week, but chickens still laid eggs during that week. Because there was nothing else to do with the eggs, they were used for Easter decoration.

I took this photo while canoeing through this beautiful sunset in the Glaskogen nature reservation.
This photo is almost SOOC. I just pulled a little shadows and added some contrast and nothing else.

One of the many charming old streets of the city of Auxerre that lead you down to the banks and Quai’s of the River Yonne. I have visited a great many French towns but I think Auxerre seems to have more ancient houses than anywhere else in France. These houses are from the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.

One of the greatest joys of travelling along the Lofoten islands besides its absolutely breathtaking nature and topography must be the many many MANY tunnels that links some of them or which lead the E10 through insuperable mountains. It became one of my pleasures to be at the ready with my cameras and shoot while we were inside. Soo much fun, especially since most of the time you are all by yourself, not a single other car at sight and where else does one have that pleasure?! :)

When it came to the Moscow Metro, I had a good idea what to expects, but the reality was something else. Spacious, stunning, immacculate and clean hardly covers it. There were very few people, Alla said that was because trains come every 90 seconds. Each station has a unique theme, there are no billboards, I could have spent a day visiting stations and riding the trains; this was railway heaven beyond my wildest dreams.
This shot of Mayakovskaya Metro station. The Moscow metro is a marvel of urban design. Every day, as many as 9 million people use the metro system -- that's more than in New York and London combined. As well as being one of the most efficient and cheapest underground transit systems in the world, the Moscow Metro is also undoubtedly one of the most beautiful. The brainchild of the tsars but finally put into action by Stalin, whose idea to make the city’s metro stations “palaces for the people” has translated into some truly spectacular, subterranean architectural gems. It’s possible to spend an entire day or more travelling the metro and exploring the vast array of ornate stations; each constructed and decorated in its own unique way. There are 215 stations on 14 lines.
