Shyann, our Norwegian Elkhund enjoys mornings sitting at our bedroom window looking for any uninvited guests such as deer, turkeys or squirrels in the backyard. The bench she sits on is at the right height for her to just lay her head on the sill and watch.

my pets and i tend to get shrunken down. (and in case you're wondering, my dog is a norwegian elkhound)

A favourite food of Arctics foxes in the wild are rodents, especially lemmings. Some dog breeds (dachshunds, terriers) also catch rodents, and wolves, huskies and elkhounds all dive down through the snow to capture rodents. Captive animals such as this Arctic fox, as well as ferrets, snakes, hawks and owls, etc., can be kept healthy by feeding them frozen mice that are widely available through pet shops.

They proactively rescue puppies mainly from Amish farms where they do not neuter their working dogs. He joins our two year old Norwegian we adopted from this same group. Hunting spitz, not recognised by the FCI

The Svensk vit älghund (Swedish White Elkhound) was not recognised by the Swedish KC until 1998 although the breed goes back to a litter born in 1942. The breed is an exeptionally good hunting dog mainly for elk but also for bear and lynx. The type is like the Jämthund both regarding size and proportions. Body rectangular and harmonious, lithe and with good reach of neck. The tail should be high set and carried in a loose curve over the back. The colour is white, but a shade of light yellow is tolerated. Ideal height at withers for males is 56 cm (22 inches), and for females it is 53 cm (21 inches).

Up into the mountains we must go, where he leads no one knows or no knowing of what we'll find. But there I am right behind, just my dog the mountains and I

R.I.P My gorgeous boy Blue. 1st June is a date I will never forget as we had to let him go to sleep forever. Without doubt the best friend I have ever had and I am going miss him so much and the coming weeks are going to be real hard.

This Norwegian Elkhound says that 'fun in the sun' shouldn't be an adage reserved just for the summertime! Pina Colada, anyone?
