This elementary school served the African American population in Mount Pleasant.
The school district is planning to demolish this historic school and rebuild a new school.
Current view of the classroom wing at Courtenay. This school is currently undergoing rehabilitation that will affect its historic appearance.

at the Art Vista show, the annual art exhibition at my kids' elementary school. The portraits are always my favorite.
Each panel is 18" x 18". (ungrouted) Kids sketched ideas and I transfered them to boards. Images represent (top L-R): California Mountain Region; Mission Bell; CA Desert Region; (bottom): CA coastal; Gold Rush; CA central valley. Many thanks to Luz and Bea for help with prep!! It's all in the planning...
Our grandson is in the group on the left, I think. The kids were dancing around and doing fancy things with the flashlights. I kind of lost track of where he was in the dark.
