one sits on either end of the table and there are 2 small crevices where your elbows sit. Once your elbows are in place and you place your hands over your ears, you hear a true symphony of sounds that are produced by vibrations in the bones of your forearm.

The Huggable is a new type of robotic companion being developed by MIT Media Lab for healthcare, education, and social communication applications. The Huggable is designed to be much more than a fun interactive companion. It is designed to function as a team member, not to replace a human in a network, but to enhance that human social network.

This was a copyright statement. They were taking copies of designer clothes, and destroying them in the "Terminator 5000." But it was stupid. Someone would show one shirt or something, put it onto a conveyor belt where it was whisked up into the t5k. It would come out the other end, slightly wrinkled with frayed edges. We wanted to see mass destruction.

Oh, and it was co-sponsored by Zollamt Linz (customs).

Cloaca

Artist: Wim Delvoye

www.cloaca.be/

Cloaca is a machine which rebuilds the human digestive system. The whole system (mouth, stomach, pancreas, intestines, anus) is represented by containers. All of the containers forms a huge machine which needs permanent care. You really have to feed the machine and take care of the excrements.

Wim Delvoye created many of those machines - one bigger than the other. One of the purposes of the installation is to criticize capitalism and consumption.

Picture: preperation for the feeding process. Cloaca likes food like human beings.
