I saw a video of the ElecTronica LaserMan show before my trip and knew I had to photograph it from the front. It's an amazingly fun show to watch and was even more fun to photograph. If you can't go to California Adventure and see it in person and haven't seen a youtube video of this show - go see one now! You won't be disappointed.
Bill, Mike and Diane and I camped out about 30 minutes ahead of time to be center front. We all had cameras and we all clicked away like crazy people during the entire time. Since you couldn't capture every second of the show, the fun was deciding when to pull the trigger and when not to - based on what you thought would happen next.

One of the wonderfully talented dancers at ElecTRONica at Disney California Adventure strikes a pose.
I thought the light structure looked like a space craft, so I climed onto the planter box behind her stage and positioned myself so it would be in the background looking like it was there to pick her up. I had to wait for pauses between beats of music where she would freeze long enough to snap a photo.
An evening totally dedicated to the artists themselves. The 2011 Ars Electronica Gala featuring the presentation of the Golden Nicas to the Prix Ars Electronica prizewinners is one of the Festival's highlights.

As of the day these are being uploaded - April 15, 2014 - it has been two years since the final day of ElecTRONica. And two years later, I still haven't quite come to terms with the fact that it's never coming back. So, to honor today's "Tronniversary", I dug up some of my old photos I had never posted from the final week of ElecTRONica.
