365_155 Monochromatic sunsets portraiture with flash. Suggestion from Strobist: strobist.blogspot.com/
Subject here was rather unwilling and exhibited a particular warning behaviour if I stepped too close (for comfort) when I was looking for more powerful POV. Like sticking his tongue out, rolling his eyes, looking tortured... It was funny but had not helped with my learning. OK, it did :-) I learned what he considers too close i.e. rather use a zoom and back off ;-D
I desperately need to go through Strobist blog... & purchase some equipment... ahem, maybe I should hold the horses of excitement, this horsewoman is slightly terrified ;-D Nah. Diffuser for the flash first. Off to Strobist now...
In advance of a meeting in Preston in the afternoon I took the opportunity of a beautiful day to explore the footbridge " Bridge 29", WNW of Kirkham North Junction. The bridge appears in the distance in Railrover700's Photo img-3977.jpg of 6th January.
The bridge can be seen immediately west of Lytham Old Junction on this Edwardian map:
maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=16&lat=53.7907&lon=...
According to the map the location should cross the current route to Blackpool North and the former route to Blackpool Central and might afford views of the current route to Blackpool South and the line of route of the west-to-south curve which once made Kirkham North a triangular junction.
The block in the middle distance, just below and left of the church was the northern abutment of the flyover which took the eastbound line from Blackpool Central over the Blackpool North lines to avoid conflicting movements.
It is due to be demolished as part of the electrification works.
…after a lot of reading (but not much understanding) and being inside my Basel studio, my better half (bless her) managed to drag me out of this bunker of mine to go out on a boatride on the River Rhine with some good friends to enjoy the landscape along that very river. Oh yes…it was electrifying…especially after having done my shooting schedule for the week to come ( dumping site here we come again ), I thought it would be nice to enjoy some of the landscapes. I hope i can swap the nuclear reactor for some palmtrees soon…its about time…( although I been told u can get a tan from powerplants to, dpending on the season)….

Today I spent the afternoon at the Daniel Shaver house with Kathy (Holdlifestill Photography). The house was completely covered is fabulous graffiti and the floors were littered with all kinds of various debris.
On a positive note, I managed to survive without slicing my head open on the fence again.
Last year it was challenging to even find a swallowtail to photograph. This year they are all over the place. I could sit in a chair in the field and let them come to me.
Eo3 and Ec7 EE of 1923 and 1929 respectively had a run out at the Ferrymead railway in Christchurch today.
