Contractors removed the spans over the footpath and railway tracks on Saturday 9th May, with work continuing over the weekend to tidy up. Here we see it on the Monday following, with only the temporary services bridge spanning the rails.

thealexweb took this shot from the footpath which runs between the railway and the river, looking south. The lane over the bridge continues up the hillside due south to Deane church, a pleasant third of a mile away. Out of sight immediately to the left of shot, on the opposite side of the river is a well-used family picnic area.
