With a two-year, $200,000 grant from the National Science Foundation, Santoso and his students are developing computational methods to measure how much a wind farm can contribute to meeting expected power needs. Santoso’s lab is also using the funding to establish the technical requirements of energy storage systems that would serve as temporary ”batteries” for releasing stored wind energy at optimal times.

This is the East side of the Dave Packard Electrical Engineering Building location at Stanford University. I have been wanting to photograph the architecture around the engineering quad on campus for quite some time and finally had the opportunity earlier this week. This is one of the newest areas on the campus and being the engineering area the modern look of all the buildings are quite spectacular.
