I've officially touched down on home soil after my Australian Walkabout. The upside of the journey was that I remained mostly upright throughout the trip, but after an ultrasound and EKG, the ship's Doctor said I should see a Cardiologist when I got home.
Going to take a break for a spell to heal up before getting back to Flick. Not to worry, I brought home lots of that Down-under Delight... Vegemite.
Back Soon 😅
A little texture sliding to conclude this crazy week! I think the reflection looks good with a little folding.
Happy sliders Sunday! HSS

Drei Monate noch meiner Herzklappen OP ,

Patterns of salt and mud in the Dead Sea.
The Dead sea loses almost a meter of water level every year, as it shrinks year by year.
This ecological disaster brings out fantastic formations that were once well below sea level, making for a very photogenic demise... :-(
Das Logo kombiniert den Markenschriftzug mit einer stilisierten EKG-Linie, die in das Wort „Safety“ übergeht und so die Bedeutung von Sicherheit und Lebensrettung unterstreicht.
The logo combines the brand name with a stylized ECG line that merges into the word "Safety," thus emphasizing the importance of safety and saving lives.
Tsk tsk. So it fluttered again, and I called the doc, and he saw me, said it could very well be an electrolyte imbalance or, if I still have it, anemia causing the flutters, as well as perimenopause. He gave me a blood work form for all those things and thyroid.
Honestly, I haven't had a panic attack in about five years. Maybe longer. My heart would race for no reason, and I would sweat and feel claustrophobic. This was nothing like that.
I was there last April for the same reason, and I didn't have the EKG, so we went for it this time. I won't have to do it when I get my physical next month. There was nothing "abnormal" on the test, but there were two unexplained blips, and my heart was slow, as usual, which isn't really a cause for concern--unless you're the one whose heart beats slowly, because it feels weird! Imagine being at 42 bpm, which is my lowest ever during a test.
Anyway, he says why don't we just be safe, since I had it three days in a row, and get a 24-hour heart monitor.
So there you go.
...if you don't read it here, now, you'll not know what a few others know.
About three weeks ago I visited my family doctor, seeking some relief from what seemed like a vitamin/mineral deficiency. Doctor ordered EKG and chest X-ray. By the time I got home there was a message waiting for me instructing me to go back to the hospital for a CT scan!
Scan was made, two radiologists interpreted it. Not a vitamin deficiency...LUNG CANCER...lymphoma. Hardly what I was expecting.
In the past, in general terms, I had discussed this with wife Judy, and a few friends...not thinking it would come about so suddenly. I had decided to forego ALL treatment...chemo and radiation.
Had a long meeting with my doctor and after hearing my reasons, she agreed with me...no treatment. And no biopsy, so no way to know much about the cancer...how advanced it might be. Definitely lymphoma in one lung, and since there had been no defining symptoms, no way to know either how long it has been around or how advanced it is.
Also, NO hospice care, either in a facility or in home visits. We've made good arrangements for treatment of symptoms, to the degree possible.
Yeah...kind of shocking isn't it! Spend a year taking every precaution against Covid infection, get vaccinated at the earliest possible time, and then discover that none of that matters now.
You can FB message me for a short time...with questions.
And let me try to reassure. Since the diagnosis, I have mostly felt completely 'normal',..for me that is. Some evenings are challenging, when it seems that the bug wants to take charge. So far it has not.
That's it I guess. I'll be uploading photos as I can, and even intend to go out photographing. We'll see.
BY THE WAY...THIS IS AN INTERESTING TEST TO SEE WHO 'FAVES' FROM THUMBNAILS WITHOUT OPENING THE PHOTO.

oh how i love wednesdays, except that i have to leave the frenzy in a bit to go to ekg training. grrrrr!
Die Vorbereitungen der Weiterbildung EKG sind fast abgeschlossen. The preparations for continuing ECG are almost complete.
Too Fast, My Racing Heart ❤️ This has happened the last two times on the treadmill at Carondelet’s Cardio-Pulmonary Rehab Facility. My Cardiologist Is Investigating. I wore an EKG harness on Thursday to Friday. We’ll know more on Monday.
Patrick had to wear this halter for 24 hours because the EKG at the dentist showed something questionable. All was fine - no problem - but it was a scare for a bit and no fun to wear this thing!

Another long lost, unprocessed raw file from Halloween night in the Hodge junkyard, 2006. It's a 1956 Packard Patrician. Minute-forty-nine of full moon and there's red, blue and white light, probably strobe pops, but I don't really remember.

A late night shot from Jersey City, New Jersey neighborhood of Exchange Place of New York City (NYC) and specifically lower Manhattan.
Very busy with a new site / application launch but managing to squeeze in some relaxation time with the camera late at night during some well needed break time.
Will post some shots from the roof of my building I took last night later. Enjoy your Thursday and thank you as always for the views and comments!
