El tren de alta velocidad AVE que puede destruir la Sagrada Familia (y la Pedrera)

El Ministerio de Fomento del Estado español ha aprobado un proyecto que pone en grave peligro la Sagrada Familia (y la Pedrera), la obra cumbre del arquitecto catalán Antoni Gaudí, en Barcelona (Cataluña, España). El proyecto en cuestión es la construcción inminente de un túnel para un tren de gran velocidad (AVE -Alta Velocidad Española-) que pasará por debajo de la fachada principal del edificio, la denominada Fachada de la Gloria (calle Mallorca).
Consideramos que dada:
1. La vulnerabilidad y el peso de un edificio tan singular como este.
2. La naturaleza inestable del suelo sobre el que se asienta la construcción y las corrientes subterráneas que lo atraviesan.
3. Las obras del túnel serán muy agresivas y durarán 28 meses.
4. Teniendo en cuenta que el monumento recibe una media de 7.000 visitas diarias.
Es una vergüenza que se lleve adelante un proyecto parecido , puesto que no se tiene en cuenta el desastre que supondría que hubieran desprendimientos parciales o incluso un derrumbamiento total del templo, puesto que esto podría arrastrar muchas muertes y afectaría un edificio declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO.
Pero también queremos denunciar que este no es el único edificio de Gaudí afectado por el trazado, puesto que la Pedrera (o Casa Milà) se encuentra en el trazado del túnel. También otros edificios insignes del modernismo catalán, una singular masía del siglo XIV , un refugio de la Guerra Civil (1936-1939) y dos yacimientos arqueológicos, además de múltiples centenares de viviendas de ciudadanos preocupados.

Eixample is the "new city" in Barcelona. Meaning "the expansion," it's the part of Barcelona designed in the late 18th and early 19th century just north of the Old City. Its streets are very orderly -- a square grid -- with a few diagonal avenues running through it.
You'll primarily find 5-6 story buildings where the ground floor is commercial (restaurants, markets, bodegas, etc.) and all the upper floors are residential. At each intersection, all the corners are slightly recessed to form a small circle.
From street level, you'll notice the balconies, mostly wrought-iron or of a uniform color. If you can find a way to see an aerial view of Eixample, you'll definitely see how square and orderly the street layout is.
