today I lit a candle in a church

not for someone in particular

like I normally do,

or several persons -

but for the One,

who is present in all

which is I in everyone. -

The one that gives

really is the same that receives -

surfaces differ but the inner Being

eternally is the same,

timeless, bodyless, egoless

No one says:

the sea is resilient;

the stars persevere.

That little bird has spent all day hammering at a promising speck,

he must be stubborn, so silly.

Forces of nature,

Yes, relentless as the sun rises.

Egoless instinct, a clear focused desire.

Pursuit of what keeps the blood pumping;

the inspiration of hope; the ever evenflow.

Relentless, yes,

as the sunrise.

Reflections of me in an art installation by Olafur Eliasson, "Yellow Egoless Door," in the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.

Animals are egoless, they are like angels on Earth.

They are sentient beings with their own experiences , emotions, suffering and treating them with compassion and respect is ethically and morally right.

Kindness to animals is the sign of an harmonious and healthy society, where individuals demonstrate empathy, respect, and a sense of responsibility for all living things.

The air is cleansed once more.

Radha Soami Satsang Beas (RSSB) says it is a philosophical organization based on the spiritual teachings which lie at the core of all religions and it is dedicated to a process of inner development under the guidance of a spiritual teacher. The path of Surat Shabt yoga (yoga of the audible sound) was established in India in 1891 under this line of spiritual Masters and gradually began spreading to other countries in the mid 20th century.

Dawn breaking

By Greta Bellamacina

The gods met up to decide your fate first

they made their decision through the “rosy-fingered dawn”

the wind was young and they sat on the broken spells of rain

a dozen owners of the stars

throw down their signals,

an inter-wind of eagles to see if you’d notice

the new windows high up in the hills

the new thousand years of tree room

made like shaking trains far in your childhood

for you to roam and leave the cold streets

for you to imagine the end of the sky

and the school you will one day leave.

To see if you would notice me

walking coatless into the flowered womb of ghosts by our bed.

The night continues to note down the morning dawn

it breaks slowly its hands gentle like a smile

ragged with blue ornaments from a mountain seascape,

the light is egoless at this hour

it is in a state of meditation

it rows pulling light like a guardian

it is a woman and man

it is the quest of prayer-wheels

giving the light the latency of light.

You're fast asleep beside me rafting with the tides

you have your own birds of the sky hallowing you unbonded

but the birds inside of me have not stopped

flapping their towering wings in twos

a river in the womb of a river, another mediterranean.

Athena stayed behind like a statue

in the darkness holding the torch light towards Troy

remembering the honour of peace

remembering the hour of waking

remembering the bureaucracy of tears

the heavens remain unimpressed

their only job— biographers of the light

a freezer tray to the sky

where all golden light come to die

and live in between the voices

a postcard to the church.

And you're now awake and everything is settled and you say

“I can feel it, it’s alive.”

Nirvāṇa (Sanskrit: निर्वाण; Pali: निब्बान nibbāna ; Prakrit: णिव्वाण) literally means "blown out", as in a candle. It is most commonly associated with Buddhism. In Indian religions, the attainment of nirvana is moksha, liberation from the repeating cycle of birth, life and death (reincarnation).

In the Buddhist context nirvana refers to the imperturbable stillness of mind after the fires of desire, aversion, and delusion have been finally extinguished. In Hindu philosophy, it is the union with the divine ground of existence Brahman (Supreme Being) and the experience of blissful egolessness.

"It's still an attempt to be egoless while self-assured

If I'm still unsure that I'm pretty sure

That I am pretty good

God you know I'm good." - Over it, Relient K

Give it a listen?

Shine your soul with the same

egoless humility as the rainbow

and no matter where you go

Tomorrow is one of my unfavorite days… Maybe because subconsciously, my body remembers everything it went through that day before I was born. Because I was supposed to be born tomorrow, July 26. But as my mom loves to say, if some unknown power saved me that day, then there must be a reason. I always remember that! And there are times when I start to take things for granted. Then I stop myself and make myself look back to time from birth till mid twenties. I have no right to take things for granted!

The innocence of children is their wisdom, the simplicity of children is their egolessness. The freshness of the child is the freshness of your consciousness, which never becomes old, which always remains young. In their innocence, very young children know themselves to be light and love.

Genuine compassion is based on the recognition that others have the right to happiness just like yourself, and therefore even your enemy is a human being with the same wish for happiness as you, and the same right to happiness as you.

“Shine your soul with the same

egoless humility as the rainbow

and no matter where you go

in this world or the next,

love will find you, attend you, and bless you.”

Woods

by Wendell Berry

"I part the out thrusting branches

and come in beneath

the blessed and the blessing trees.

Though I am silent

there is singing around me.

Though I am dark

there is vision around me.

Though I am heavy

there is flight around me."

From Collected Poems, 1957-1982. North Point Press, New York (1985).

Woods poem found at www.spiritoftrees.org/poetry/tree_poems.html

“Every forest branch moves differently in the breeze but as they sway they connect at the roots.”—Jelaluddin Rumi from “Birdsong” and “The Essential Rumi”

"Look at the beauty and perfection of nature. Everything in nature is so joyful, even though it doesn't have the intelligence of a human being. All of creation is rejoicing. The most beautiful flowers are picked by people —torn by their stems. Some are made into garlands while others are trampled heedlessly. A flower has such a short life span, and yet it offers itself wholeheartedly to others; it even offers its own nectar to the bees —and yet it is happy. The stars are twinkling in the sky, the rivers are flowing blissfully, the branches of the trees are dancing in the wind, and the birds are bursting into song. You should ask yourself, 'Why, then, do I feel so miserable living in the midst of all this joyful celebration?'

"Ask the question, 'why,' repeatedly, and you will find the answer. The answer is that the flowers, stars, rivers, trees and birds do not have an ego; and, being egoless, nothing can hurt them. When you are egoless, you can only rejoice. Even occasions that would normally be painful are transformed into moments of joy."--Amma

Having visited the Todai-Ji Temple and its surrounds, I began a hike of Yamanobe-no-michi, also referred to as The Ancient Road. It dates back to the 7th century, and connects the towns of Nara and Mira. It is part of the lengthy Tokai Nature Trail, which many Japanese walk, often alone, as a contemplative journey. The trail is paved in parts, but is mostly cobblestone or dirt as it winds through ancient villages. The practice of walking this trail, often in segments, a little at a time, is emblematic of the Japanese devotion to what is aged.

Along the Trail, signs such as the one pictured here are commonly seen. Some are rough-hewn in their construction, and others quite sophisticated. Upon these signs are inscribed Haiku, traditional Japanese poems written according to strict rules. Haikus express genuine feelings (about love, for example) and are intended to be egoless.

No one can say that they do not enjoy receiving the “likes” on their feed. But I enjoy the comments more—comments which explain why they like or dislike something. I don’t mind negative comments really. If we only receive kudos and no criticisms then we will never grow.

In America, I learned the arts of being “politically correct.” The problem with that stance is that I never really know what people are trying to tell me. I prefer direct and open communication. Sometimes it does hurt quite a bit, but it only hurts when we have ego. Once we remove the self-pride (which is one of the seven deadly sins), there is nothing to be hurt about.

I would much rather you tell me that you don’t like something than telling me that “it’s nice” but secretly hating it.

Please criticize me in my face and tell me you absolutely dread this crap that I am posting. If you tell me, I will correct my course and post relevant content that is of interest to you. Of course I could also agree to disagree with you.

Feedbacks—good or bad—are always good. There is no such thing as constructive vs destructive criticisms. For me, criticisms are always good. It is always feedback. But elaborate feedback are better, because we know the why.

Can anybody help identify him and why the axe (tabarzin)?

"Service to mankind is path of moksha".

Hindus practice nonviolence. Buddhists practice egolessness and nonbeing. True Christians practice deep love and acceptance. Sufi masters practice enlightenment through whirling mystical transcendence. Pagans practice veneration for the earth and the divine feminine.

Your notion of ‘That’ being hard to achieve.

Deprived you of that easily–attainable Supreme,

When that All–Pervasive Eternal came to your door,

Even in accessible guise with greater ease;

Your concept of 'That' being very hard to attain

Once again deprived you of that Supreme Omnipresence.

He is not hard to attain

Easier is He to achieve

He is here and in our view.

SALUTATIONS unto the Feet of Supreme Fathers, Almighty Lords Sawan and Kirpal, Who have had mercy on the poor souls. They showered Their grace upon the souls and gave them the gift of Their devotion... ”

"I exist and will continue to exist and will guide you in the same manner even after I leave my mortal body. I remain guru for all the time to come. I will not get salvation until my last devotee attains salvation."-Swami Nigamananda

My Son! However intelligent and wise you may think yourself -- the key remains in the hand of Shri Guru (the Holy Preceptor) -- this you should never forget.

Thus existent, subsistent and value factors correct the exaggerations of each other and of one another. Finally, pure being attains to self-awareness in the Absolute.

"I am One with my Father"

Separateness disappears when the created dissolves into the Creator as opposed to the more common translation: "I and my Father are One."

"This nature is equal in every body. Just because some are sages, it doesn't mean they have more of this nature than ordinary men."

''Having undertaken responsibility for you, I will never allow any of you disciples to escape from me. Only keep faith and I will do the rest. I will give you what you want if it be to your benefit and wish that you will in due time desire what I want to give you. Wherever you may be, think of me and I will be with you.''
