it was HOT today, and I mean it; 102 degrees F, and this is nothing to what it will be in July. That it's hit a hundred in the valley this early is not a good sign. We've not had rain in Davis for, blimey, I don't even remember when.

And so I went out in it to draw, because I promised myself it was a drawing day, and I had my little stool, and found a shady spot in the arboretum, and drew a greenhouse. I've drawn out in the hundred plus either before, I've drawn in the damning cold too.

I will get my practice at drawing in the rain at some point, though, because it won't be long before I'm off to England...
