A vast body of water lies beneath a sky thick with judgment—clouds layered like ancient grief, light breaking through in fractured defiance. The surface shimmers, not with peace, but with warning. In the corner, tree limbs reach like witnesses, framing a scene that feels more reckoning than reflection. This is not serenity. It’s the moment before something is named. The atmosphere is heavy, sacred, and unresolved. The water remembers. The sky watches. And the silence between them is not empty—it’s waiting.

Darker clouds started forming over the hills. Some distant rumbles of thunder could be heard. The family got in from being on their boat and then these incredible cloud formations took shape. Shortly after very heavy rainstorms drenched the localized area for the afternoon.

I'm not normally one to be a fan of baseball; as a matter of fact, I am probably one of the last people to enjoy the sport. But when your home team is not only playing in the World Series, but is also in the lead, you can't help but get wrapped up in the excitement.

A fringe benefit also comes in the form of the City and County of San Francisco taking a festive approach to display our pride.

Most of the public buildings in the City are lit up Giants Orange, with City Hall being no exception. Combined with an eerily ominous sky, this proved to be an excellent photo opportunity.

Go Giants!

This evenings sky, and tree in my yard tonight!

This Stunning Moon started rising simultaneously with the sunset yesterday.

It was eerily yellow outside at dusk tonight...pretty creepy, actually.

The half-moon was exceptionally cheesy that day.

The end of train DPU sits quietly next to the old depot under eerie sky conditions waiting for a proceed signal.

An approaching storm makes an interesting contrast between the unique colors of Crystal Lake and of the sky. The geese and gulls didn't like me walking on their beach

An apocalyptic afternoon commute home from work this day. It's like as if a volcano was erupting nearby. Never in my life living here have I ever witnessed such a weather scenario like this... Certainly, this year's wildfire season is a historic one... (Wednesday late afternoon, September 9, 2020)

*Weather scenario: A historic outbreak of wildfires across NorCal left a massive layer of smoke draped over the SF Bay Area, turning skies Wednesday into an eerie dark orange haze & covering cars, yards & homes with layers of ash. Climate experts believe this is part of California’s ‘new normal.’ 2 million+ acres have burned so far in a series of wildfires with the Bear & Creek fires currently raging to the east of the Bay Area. Smoke from the blazes had covered Wednesday morning with a layer of darkness. While it may look like the world is coming to an end, the orange & dark skies maybe an ominous sign of what maybe in our future... The apocalyptic skies come after a record-breaking streak of Spare the Air alerts for the region, with Wednesday being a record 23rd consecutive day. People said it was like a solar eclipse, but longer, or the apocalypse, but less biblical. Some others called the darkness a metaphor for life in the days of global warming, of COVID-19, of social unrest, & of endless electioneering. Strange & foreboding it was & how long this would last was, like the sky, was unclear. For the 1st time ever, it felt like tomorrow’s sunrise no longer seemed a guarantee…

The sky turned an eerie shade this evening so I rushed out to take a photograph.

Thursday, 24th March 2022.

A very peaceful and wonderful sight.

Normally this time of year we would be at the beach everyday, but the blanket of smoke has been hellish it feels like there is no oxygen in the air, and we have barely seen the sun in well over a month. The fires are still burning around me but the main threat to us seems to have passed (for now). This was the first morning I had seen the sun come up through the smoke and could actually see Booderee on the horizon. This is from my balcony where every morning I scan the horizon for smoke plumes and pray. the Park is closed thank God it is all we have left here, we have a long way to go this summer though I pray for rain and the animals safety

I took this photo from the front porch of our San Francisco home. The sun was setting through heavy smoke caused by multiple wildfires about 50 miles north of San Francisco. Taken on October 11, this photo was when the North Bay wildfires were in their early stages when the death count was in the teens and houses burned to the ground numbered 2,700. I am posting this photo three days later as the fires have continued to spread and have burned over 200,00 acres - 81 hectors. Though the photo has come allure, it is nonetheless eerie and ominous. I shot this using my Canon Powershot SX50.

Snowshoers on Mt. Seymour, with the glow of the nearby cityscape illuminating the night sky. Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The sky looked so strange yesterday. It was dark and dreary and raining cats and dogs and then you could see the sun shinning over the top of the trees, it almost looked like something was about to happen. I did get scared because the wind was blowing so hard I thought for sure we were going to have a tornado.

The trail is trying to channel winter.

I was standing under a dead tree which has some droopy branches, aiming at some red berries. After I looked up, I forgot about the berries.

From the spring night when thunderstorms rolled through, sparking tornados further west.

The sky eerily glowed - scary but beautiful!

Strange looking sky, I have never seen one like this and the weather was so bad I got scared. The wind was howling so loud and the trees were swaying back and forth.

A moth flitted by above right as I took this.

Walking around in The Preserve one day. I was already taking pictures of my neighborhood and noticed the sky was quite erie looking. So, I tilted my camera a little and got this wonderful shot.

Very overcast day with black clouds. When the sun popped through it looked like the moon.
