Peregrine,

One of the larger falcons, the Peregrine is a symbol of survival against the odds, these being persecution and pesticide poisoning that threatened it with extinction, Now it has made a strong comeback, in the UK, it is more common than it has ever been, although parts of its fomer range remain unoccupied, As with most falcons and hawks, females are considerbly larger than males, Pairs often remain together for long periods, soaring over nesting cliffs, Peregrines look dark against the sky, but a close view reveals black, white, and yellow adding sharp contrast to the over all grey,

Occurrence - Widespread but scarce, breeding through Scandinavia, N and W Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, Alps, Italy, and Balkans, in hills and coasts with cliffs, increasingly in cities, Present all year, some wandering in winter,

Voice ;- Loud, raucous calls at nest include throaty haak-haak-haak and whining kee-keee-eeeeee and wheeee-ip ,

Nesting ;- On broad ledge or earthy scrape on cliff, in quarry, or more rarely on building or on flatter ground, 2 - 4 eggs, 1 brood, March - June,

^U^ Yaaaaay! She's not bald/borrowing wigs now! //shot

And she has her Unicorn horn now too!!

;w; Haha, yeah, I haven't had time to work on the rest of her sanding or painting yet but the fiber for her wig arrived a few days ago and luckily wig-making isn't a process that requires constant attention so I was able to work on it in-between working on commissions. I also quickly made her Unicorn horn from Polymer clay quite a while ago and gave her ears/wings a quick base coat of mint paint so that they aren't white anymore!

*U* EEEeee i'm so happy! It came out exactly like I wanted! And the colors were perfecttttt omggggg!! The top color is mint and it is literally the exact same color as her resin OMG YESSSS I was crossing my fingers it would be the same and it was asdfghjkl!! And the bottom color is a gorgeous copper-rust color which is also perfect for what I wanted!

This is actually Viscose fiber, which i've never used before and haven't heard that much about in the BJD hobby as of yet. I was going to custom order some Alpaca for her which would have been super expensive and would have taken a month or two as well but happened upon this fiber already available in what looked like the perfect colors I was looking for so I went ahead and took a gamble and went for it. The shop has really great reviews and the pictures looked super nice so I figured if it didn't work out that would be a bummer but if it did...well it would open up a whole new world of fiber options for me as well as would be great to share with everyone else! ^U^ Seriously, this fiber is suuuper great! Its super fine, super long and feels soft like Alpaca! Plus there are lots and lots of different colors the seller has available! I can't wait to order more in Silver for Faustus and Lavender for River!!

^W^ Here is a link to the shop if you are interested! www.etsy.com/shop/vegas13?section_id=16963993&page=1

^//u//^ Eeee so happy!!! So far she is coming together so well, despite all her problems in the beginning. And doesn't she look just like a little statue already!? Ack, love her so much! It'll be quite a while until she's finished i'm sure, but i'm super pleased with her progress thus far and I hope you all like her and are excited to see her progress in the future ;///u///;

A fairly large but relatively lightweight bird of prey, the African Harrier Hawk has a distinctive small, pointed head, with a patch of naked yellow skin on the face which flushes red when the bird is excited. On the top of the head is a crest of feathers, which may be raised or lowered. The plumage is mainly grey, with neat black and white barring on the abdomen and thighs, though this is absent in some individuals. The wings are long and rounded, with distinct, broad black ends to the flight feathers, and the tail is black and relatively long, with a clear white or grey central band. Male and female African harrier-hawks are similar in appearance, though the female may be slightly larger than the male, while juveniles have brown plumage, blackish facial skin, a brown tail with four darker brown bars, and variable amounts of whitish, reddish-brown or dark bars or streaks on the abdomen. Adult plumage is not attained until about the third year). Two subspecies of African harrier-hawk are recognised: Polyboroides typus typus and Polyboroides typus pectoralis, the latter being smaller and darker, with more barring on the underparts. The African harrier-hawk is a fairly silent bird, but in the breeding season gives a long, plaintive su-eeeeee-oo call, as well as a highhweep-hweek-hweep near the nest.

shot with vashti + yazon today (yazon is featured in this photo - ive had her as a model previously, but not for a few months)! gosh i love shooting with other people - its SUCH a nice break, especially from hibernating nearly alone all winter (which really relates to the story i intended to tell here). though im really only comfortable hanging out with other people if cameras are involved. ;)

i spotted these tires in the woods when i was out with kristi the other day, and knew i had to come back for them. we rolled these out a few feet, and they were pretty yucky - filled with old rain water and such. i had to shoot this without a tripod cause i lost the piece that hooks to my camera, eeeeee! not good. :( but anyway, after this i went to take photos of my little bro at tee-ball practice. so precious.

AND ive shot new concepts 6 days in a row now. it feels amazing... i have one more thing from yesterday that i havent even gotten around to editing yet. ive been waiting for this all winter.

Todos: *cantando com um sotaque japonês bem carregado* Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy Birthday Dear Chi-chan! Happy birthday to you.

Yuuko: Eeeeee!!! *batendo palmas para a Chihiro* É tão bom ter a família toda reunida! *-*

Kinshiro: E quando você diz família se refere à? ¬_¬

Yuuko: Ué, nós 3! Eu, você e a Chi-chan! *u*

*levantou e saiu*

Chihiro: Tomoe... parece que meus desejos não vão se realizar... ;---;

Tomoe: Os meus também não... T-T

Twenty month old Harley and I were out for our daily walk when he suddenly exclaimed (with much excitement) "Aaahhh...! Oooooo...! Eeeeee...!" and pointed frantically into the sky above the nearby railway line!

And sure enough: there was a Pigeon Pair sitting on a wire almost directly above us! (This (obviously) is just one of the pair...!).

"Aaahhh!", I said to Harley. "Two lovely birds. Well done Harley; good spotting little Man!"

To which Harley proudly exclaimed, "Hmmmm"! and then sat back in his pushchair and admired his efforts with a satisfied smirk on his little face...!

Take care, keep smiling, and stay well Folks, and thanks so much for visiting my Site, and for taking the time and trouble to leave a Comment. It's always nice to hear from you...!

Feeding ;- Kills birds of sizes ranging from thrush to pigeon or grouse, sometimes larger, often rising to take them from beneath, chasing in level flight, or stooping from great height,
