Boarding schools are residential private schools, which means students live at school during the academic year. They resemble colleges in that students live in dorms or residence halls, but they primarily serve secondary school students.
A boarding school’s primary goal is to provide a learning community where students can concentrate on their studies, mature and reach their full potential.

Digital divide is a term generally referred to in the education sector to showcase inequalities in physical access to technology as well as the imbalances in resources and skills needed to effectively participate as a digital citizen. But to understand comprehensively what digital divide is, we must understand the effect on technology on education.

This is why school infrastructure is essential for a child's growth!
School buildings, classrooms, playgrounds, and libraries play an important role in a school's infrastructure. Spacious and renovated buildings do create a significant impact on the lives of school children.
For example, well-equipped labs help them to perform lab activities effectively. Library halls, games equipment, large playgrounds give an extra boost to students for making the most out of such facilities. Assembly area and proper sanitation facilities are other infrastructural elements that speak volumes about the overall level of infrastructure in schools.
Though there is no denial that focused students tend to perform brilliantly in all plots, even the experts suggest that such facilities provide an extra edge to the potential students.
Thus, the infrastructure of schools should be planned appropriately so that it assures convenient teaching and learning. Compare more such attributes and pick the right school on skoolz.in/.

ONWARDS TO XXVI JNU UNIT CONFERENCE .
A number of Left and democratic student organizations, including the SFI, have given a call for a.
demonstration by students from the different universities of Delhi at the HRD ministry on 24.02.04 to protestagainst the anti-student Model Act proposed by the UGC. On the same day trade unions across the countrywill be observing a general strike against the recent attacks on the right to strike..
We call upon the JNUSU to rally the JNU student community for the demonstration at the HRD ministry and.
observe a strike in JNU in solidarity with the working class strike action..
Friends,The past year, marked by the unjustified and illegitimate invasion and occupation of Iraq by the US and its.
allies has seen the intensification of both the imperialist quest for hegemony over the globe as well as the popular.
upsurge against the present unjust world order. The coming together of those protesting against imperialist war and.
those struggling against nee-liberal globalisation at barricades across the world is particularly significant for the futureof the anti-imperialist movement..
In our own country the term of the NDA government at the Centre comes to an end, it has launched an.
advertising blitzkrieg at immense public expense in an attempt to cover up the fact that it has been the mostregressive and anti-people government that our country has known. Yet, no amount of 'India Shining' ads or talk aboutthe 'feel good factor' in the subservient media can obliterate the haunting images of the Gujarat carnage in whichthousands of members of the minority community were massacred or rendered homeless in their own land, theirmeans of livelihood systematically destroyed, by a genocidal campaign perpetrated with the full participation andconnivance of the Central and State governments. Nor can the hype of the mythical 'second green revolution' obscurethe fact that the ruthless pursuit of nee-liberal economic policies by this government has condemned the vast majorityof our country's people to a life of such destitution and misery that the poor have been forced to commit suicides in.
thousands.Ever since this government came to power, the RSS-BJP has sought to make use of the education system to.
propagate its politics of hatred. In its effort to subvert critical enquiry, the Sangh Giroh has sought to tum universities.
into institutions awarding degrees in everything from jhaad phoonk to jyotishshastra. At the same time its project hasbeen to implement the nee-liberal vision of withdrawing state funding from education and opening up the educationsector for unbridled profiteering by domestic and foreign capital. At the fag end of its tenure this government hassought to provide statutory legitimacy to this fundamentally undemocratic vision through the UGC's Model Act forIndian Universities which proposes to make it the legal responsibility of universities to raise resources internally, i.e.through exorbitant fees from students and from corporate projects that jeopardize their academic autonomy. At thesame time, the attacks on the democratic rights of the academic community have also been taken to their logical.

Throughout the dark period of NDA rule the JNU student movement has successfully resisted the attacks of.
communalism and the privatization, commercialization and communalization of education. Sustained political-.
ideological struggles by the united Left platform of the SFI-AISF have thwarted all attempts by the RSS-ABVP to.
divide the student community on communal lines. These fascistic forces have been repeatedly given a fitting rebuff bythe students of our campus, culminating in the complete rout of the ABVP in the last JNUSU elections. At the sametime all attempts to commercialize and saffronize JNU. whether it be the attempts to introduce obscurantist and self-.

Over the past year, struggles under the banner of the SFI-AISF-Ied JNUSU have ensured theregularization of the Mahi-Mandavi mess at a time when services are being privatized in universities across thecountry and have ensured the setting up of institutional mechanisms for providing financial and academic assistance.

community to make it a success..
The proposed Model Act-a concept paper on which was circulated to different universities late.
last year-represents an attempt by the NDA government to give statutory legitimacy to its policy ofruthless privatization and commercialization of higher education in our country. The concept papermakes it clear that the government would continue to withdraw resources from higher education anduniversities would have to raise resources to become "self-sufficienf'. The implication is clear-further.
fee-hikes and user charges which would exclude a large section of potential students from access tohigher education. By making the carrying out of corporate-sponsored research and consultancy projectspart of the functions of a university, the Act seeks to force universities to become dependent on theprivate sector at the cost of their academic autonomy. In fact, the Act proposes to create a post ofPro-V.C. who would be chosen not on the basis of academic competence but on the basis of hisbusiness experience and who would be responsible for ~~resource mobilization"..
The UGC.
's 'model' under NDA rule is the IMF-World Bank's vision of turning higher educationinto a sphere of profit-making by domestic and international capital, ultimately opening up the educationsector for MNCs under GATS. The Government has already declared its allegiance to this vision in theBirla-Ambani report authored by the representatives of two of the largest monopoly houses of ourcountry. Implementation of this fundamentally undemocratic vision has as its corollary growingauthoritarianism on university campuses. Most students in our country lack even the basic rights toassociate and elect representatives and student protests have been brutally repressed. The UGC's.
Model Act formalizes this denial of democratic rights by proposing "depoliticisation of the campus for ahealthy academic environment" and recommending that Executive Councils-which are the highestdecision-making bodies of universities-be reconstituted as completely nominated bodies with no.
elected representatives at all..
The UGC's slavish implementation of the IMF-WB's dictates is also evident in its attempt to coverup the withdrawal of adequate educational facilities by urging universities to expand distance education. It adds insult to injury by recommending that Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) ratherthan .
'old-fashioned' correspondence courses be used to impart this distance education at a time whenthe Government's anti-people economic policies are depriving a vast majority of the people of ourcountry even the basic means of livelihood. The attempt to replace the different university Acts with a anti-student nee-liberal Model Act ispart of the HRD Ministry's larger project to curb the autonomy of institutions of higher education. Apart.
from using its financial powers to coerce policy making, the UGC has been forcing universities to obtain.
< accreditation-a process that not only forces universities to toe the HRD Ministry's line in order to obtainc a good rating but which has also shown immense potential for grossest corruption and misuse. Now, thev UGC is trying to force Central universities to admit students to professional and technical coursesv through a common admission test. This would be a particularly retrograde step in the case of universities.
