Her gaze is timeless, her presence a story whispered through centuries. Inspired by the Pre-Raphaelites, this portrait embodies a myth reborn in auburn and bloom.

Draped in scarlet satin, she is a vision of allure—soft curves, bold lips, and a gaze that lingers like a whispered promise. The air is thick with the scent of roses and temptation, as she sits poised between elegance and desire. In the language of red, she speaks only in fire.
Beneath the precise geometry of light and skin, Lucy becomes the constant in a field of heat and stillness. The Scarlet Equation is a meditation on symmetry — how beauty, when distilled to its essential vectors, becomes an act of control. Every shadow resolves an emotion; every line holds a temperature.

A normal person sees a storm,
thinks help and runs away
A photographer sees that storm,
and runs the other way
Off into the cold they go,
the wind, the rain and more
To capture pics no matter what,
of all the things they saw
Watching all the huge waves crashing,
defiantly they stand
Looking out from beneath the pier,
with camera in hand
Why do we do such stupid things,
like photograph the snow
We can't resist to get that pic,
so off we always go
We see the world through rule of thirds,
and many shades of grey
The search to get the perfect shot,
continues every day

The web doesn't do this picture justice, but hopefully you get the idea. This is an editorial portrait of Kilgore College freshmen Maverick Cayce, left, and Aaron Leonard. Cayce and Leonard embarked on a weeks-long journey to Alaska over summer, all in an old Racquet & Jog van the duo purchased for $800 (the same van on which they sit in this portrait).
Strobist:
Lit by midday sun and a Nikon SB-80DX, hand-held camera right and a bit lower than the subjects by voice-assisted lightstand Meagan, and trigged by CyberSyncs.
Shutter - 1/250
aperture - f/18, for a nice starburst from the Sun
ISO - 200, standard low for the Nikon D700
Flash was at full power, bare and direct. Probably zoomed to 35-50mm-ish.

In the glow of magenta haze, Anna becomes the centerpiece of a neon symphony—poised, powerful, and untouchable. Neon Nocturne captures the rhythm of light and shadow in its most alluring form.

here's a 2nd shot from last night because for class we need two visually different shots. thought i'd go for a black & white feel here. added a nice blue-ish tone through curves after applying my b&w conversion.
ab400 boomed/dished high camera right.
ab400 back left for rim & background fill.
