Nadat ik door vele mede-tramliefhebbers was gewezen op de aanbieding van Editions Atlas om voor € 3,90 de Amsterdamse 'blauwe wagen' 465 te bestellen in de bekende modelbouwschaal 1:87 (H0), ben ik maar voor deze keer overstag gegaan.
Omdat ik er eerst even over heb moeten nadenken (je sluit eigenlijk een abonnement af op een hele serie modeltrams), werd het pakketje pas afgelopen zaterdag bezorgd, bij de buurman. Afgelopen maandag kreeg ik het van hem. Benieuwd hoe de Zwitsers het voor elkaar hadden gekregen een Amsterdamse twee-asser in 'half nul' uit te brengen, maakte ik, staand en met de volle boodschappentas in de gang, gauw het pakje open.
Et voilà: Niets 'blauwe tram'. Het was een PCC van de Belgische buurtspoorwegen. Niet blauw, maar rood, geen tweeasser, maar een vierasser. Wél een hele mooie.
Atlas beloofde overigens plechtig alsnog de goede tram te sturen. Is nooit gebeurd. De blauwe wagens waren op, zo werd beweerd. Wel m'n geld terug gekregen.
We zien hier de NMVB 10409 op een gedeelte van het Belgische buurttram-traject van mijn modelbaan. Excuses voor de rommel, er wordt momenteel aan de tramsporen gewerkt. De straat is voor een groot deel opgebroken.
After I decided to accept the offer of 'Editons Atlas' to order the famous 1:87 (H0) model of the Amsterdam "blue tramcar" I waited with patience for the thing(s) te come.
Last Saturday a package was delivered at the neighbor's house, because I wasn't there. Last Monday I quickly opened the parcel after having it collected next door.
Et voilà: a PCC of the Belgian vicinal railways. Not blue, but red, not a two-axle vehicle, but a four axle. By the way: very beautiful as well, but certainly not what I expected.
A friendly lady of Atlas promised me to send the blue tramcar once more. This never happened: "Sold out". Eventually I got a refund.
We see the Vicinal 10409 on a section of my Belgian tram layout. We, the modeltram company, apologize for the mess. 'We' are currently working on the tram tracks. The road is broken up to a large extent.

The display LE Aurora doll on the register counter, in front of me.
Pre-ordering the Limited Editon Aurora 17'' Doll and the Diamond Edition Sleeping Beauty Blu-ray/DVD at the Disney Store, on July 28, 2014.
I got to the store at 7:30 am. At 7:40 am three more collectors showed up, who were all collectors that I knew from previous LE doll releases at the same store. We got a sneak peek at the LE Aurora about an hour before the store opened. At about 9:30 am one more person showed up, who was getting the doll for his wife. Then right before store opening at 10 am, a woman showed up who was looking for Frozen items, and didn't know anything about LE Aurora. It turns out the store had 16 dolls, so the five of us could have ordered three each if there wasn't a limit of one per guest.
The manager let me take photos of the display sample LE Aurora as she was ringing me up for the doll and Diamond Edition DVD pre-orders. There was a snafu with the computer system, so no vouchers were printed, so she said the receipts would be good enough when it came time to pick them up on Oct 7. They changed the voucher holders to just cards instead of folders, so they just stapled the receipts to the cards. There was also no longer any discount coupon on the DVD voucher card.
The doll herself was gorgeous. The more outstanding thing about her, and which doesn't come out in photos very well, is the magical golden sparkle in the hair made by the golden tinsel. The tinsel consists of very thin transparent threads with tiny golden beads embedded. She looked as though she had gold dust sprinkled throughout her head. The gold thread in her outfit also sparkled in the light.
They had some Art of Aurora items for sale, and also some of the other newly released Sleeping Beauty merchandise. I didn't buy any of them, as I had already bought what I wanted online, for now.

The Pride was one of the first Kia models in Europe in 1995. It was built in collaboration with Ford and Mazda which sold the car as Festiva and 121. It was sold here until 2000. This is a Honey Bee special editon in a distinctive yellow colour.

Het lag niet in de planning afgelopen zaterdag, maar omdat ik met de auto toch langs Driebergen kwam, en die ochtend op Facebook voorbij zag komen dat Droomrit voor het Leven bezig was, heb ik toch even de afslag gepakt en even staan wachten op het IVA-terrein tot de supercars zouden arriveren. De Mini Cooper hierboven stond al op het terrein en aangezien ik toch aan het wachten was in het zonnetje, besloot ik enkele foto's te maken. Het blijkt een Laurel Sport Edition te zijn. Mini Nederland heeft deze destijds in een oplage van 65 stuks op de markt gebracht. Coole uitvoering!
Driebergen, Nederland
It was not planned last Saturday, but because I came by car along Driebergen, I decided to take the exit. With a good reason. I saw that morning on Facebook that the event 'Droomrit Voor Het Leven' was underway. An initiative for sick children to ride along in a sports car the whole day. So, I was waiting on the parking from the IVA Business School until the supercars would arrive. This Mini Cooper was already there and because I was waiting anyway, I have taken some pictures. It turns out to be a Laurel Sport Edition. Mini Netherlands has released this Cooper in a limited edition of 65 pieces. Pretty cool Cooper!

Cinderella has now been deboxed. Lying down. After removing her from the doll stand, there isn't any further restraints to remove from her, except for the wire around the base of her curly bun, and a single tie attaching one of her peplums to the the skirt. I tried to tidy up her curly bun, but one of the curls refused to stay put. I will try again tomorrow. The back of the dress is a very lovely design, with three tiers. The bottom tier is actually a short train. The front of her skirt is a shiny silver blue satin, with light blue embroidery depicting the pumpkin coach.
Deboxing the Cinderella and Prince Charming Doll Set. The covers have been removed, and the cardboard backing cut open. The dolls are then freed from the backing, but are still attached to the plastic spacer and doll stands. The backing is then cut off from the base of the display stand. Then the dolls are freed from the spacer.
The Cinderella and Prince Charming Doll Set, the third release in the 2014 Disney Fairytale Designer Collection. I got Cinderella today (Tuesday Oct 7, 2014) at my local Disney Store. There were 15 people entered for 16 dolls. She is #4755 of 6000. Her curly hair is in more of an updo than the curly pony tale of the stock image. But that may be just how it was packaged, and may drop down into a ponytail when I debox her. She has exactly the same head position as the artwork and deboxed stock photo, so no Exorcist head here. Here are some preliminary photos of the set boxed, and then with the covers removed. I will be fully deboxing her in the next day or two.
