Sometimes when I buy a doll, I use a picture from Ebay and edit the face to see what needs to be done and how it’d look before I customize.
Back in 2006 when I first saw the promo pics released for the very first Wicked Witch Barbie it was this really lovely, hand painted prototype that was very barbie-ish but green and had lovely curls in her hair. In reality it was this ratty haired, creepy eyed thing, and 14 year old me was disappointed.
Since then I like to think I picked up some customizing skills and hope to make this Witch doll look a bit more like her prototype.
So here’s my photo edit of repro Francie in terms of trying to make her look more vintage looking cuz I have one in the mail and I customize better if I have a set goal in mind.
First off her lip shape is completely off as her upper lip is crazy big and wide and her lower lip needs to be wider and rounder.
Her eye shape is kinda off as it’s too almond shaped and needs to be rounded off at the corners and be a smidge smaller on the lower eye lid. Her eyes are definitely too dark so they need a lighter brown and her pupils need to be reshaped as well as.
Her eyeshadow is the wrong shape and with all these adjustments it’d be easier repainting her eyes than doing slight edits to them.
Also her rooted eyelashes are too thick and dark so I’ll reroot them.
I do like her eyebrows so I might keep them lol.
