Sometimes, as you drive down the road, a photo-worthy subject finds you instead of you finding it...as is the case with this 1959 Edsel Villager Station Wagon! I believe I was in Maryville, TN and just drove right past requiring a u-turn to come back and get this pic. What caught my eye was the fact that this car (including the paint scheme) reminded me of the vehicle from the original Ghostbusters movie (the Ecto-1). While it is not the same make or model, it is the same year as the Ecto-1 which is interesting and sort of explains the similar appearance. Being a car guy, this was a no-brainer requiring a photograph of such an interesting automobile!!
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D5200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

In that minifigure loot three weeks ago was the torso of some Ken Wheatley from the jurassic theme. It reminded me of the suit the Ghostbusters wore.
Tried to make some smallish Ecto-1 car, but that looked so off and weird, and had already taken more time than I wanted, so that I settled for the set 21108. I even had nearly all of the parts needed, so here they are on some country road chasing a ghost.

When I built my Ecto-1 back in 2013, as one of the first cars of my movie car collection, I based its design on my older pink Cadillac convertible. However, since that was built in pink, with few colours available, it was a bit crude. I have since taken it apart and have subsequently rebuilt Ecto-1, using loads of parts not available in pink.
Racing to get ghosts and fame.
I've shown the ECTO-1 Chevrolet Miller Meteor a few days ago, but it's been quite a while since I've had the 7-wide Dodge Charger in my stream.

Finally had some time to take a shot of this. Tried various effects for all the lights but it was too much and never quite looked right so I stuck to the headlights only.
After uploading this... its just dawned on me this is effectively the poster for Stephen Kings Christine.
The new Ghostbusters movie is due to première in the next few days and while I am not excited about what I've seen in the two trailers, I do like that the new Ghostbusters are women and I do like the new Ecto 1 based on an Eighties Cadillac. It's the latest addition to my movie car collection and my belated entry for last month's LUGNuts challenge, called The Science of it all.

As most of my playmobil-toys I bought this set used and had to do some repairs on the ecto-1 ... so it's not totally original, but it came with 2 more figures & the marshmallow-man !
I Remember Seeing A Car Like This In Ghostbusters When I Was A Kid 1984 -- Seeing It Again On The Streets Of Brooklyn In 2008.. Same Feeling .. Cool

Ghostbusters!
Because of their black backpacks, I couldn't use my standard black background for this portrait, so I went with red. I have mixed feelings about the red background but at least the minifigs show up against it.
No new builds in this pic, but it's rainy and I can't go outside so I'm working on improving my photography in general.

What if you encounter ghosts in space? Who you gonna call? Space Ghostbusters of course! And their specialized vehicle (Space Ecto-1) equipped with the most advanced technology to fight any space ghost / creature.
The model is controlled remotely via BuWizz – including the hatch door and the retractable ghost trap.
Two or three years ago I built some Autobots based on 80s movie/TV vehicles. Since then I've revised my MOCs of those vehicles, so I recently went in and updated the Autobot models to match.
When I built my version of Ecto-1 back in 2013, I based the design on my existing pink Cadillac convertible. Due to the limited variety of parts available in pink, however, its design left a bit to be desired. I have since taken the convertible apart (intending to use the pink parts for something else) and decided to update Ecto-1 using loads of parts such as cheese slopes and 1x2 curved slopes, to bring it up to the latest standard.
You can see the new version under construction at the front, the old one being dismantled at the right and the LEGO Ideas Ecto-1 set in the back to the left. During the rebuild, most of the roof and the rear is unchanged, but the rest will be completely new.
I so enjoyed getting to see Echo-1 in Solihull High Street. I loved all the chrome work on the car and the little touches in the display of the car.
