Here I was... thinking the carbon based economy was on its last legs...

HES International is developing a tank terminal for the storage and transshipment of so-called "clean petroleum products" are stored at the terminal, such as diesel, gas oil and petrol, on the Hartelstrook, south side of the Mississippihaven on Maasvlakte 1.

Transhipment of oil products in Rotterdam has increased sharply in recent years. In twenty years, the volume has increased almost fivefold to around 90 million tons. Developments such as the HES Hartel Tank Terminal show that this trend has not yet come to an end, especially for 'clean petroleum products'. This is partly due to the increasing worldwide trade in oil products and differences between the supply and demand of oil products on the various continents.

On the 27 hectare site 54 tanks with a capacity of 1.3 million m3 will be built. Seagoing vessels can moor at the quay with six berths up to VLCCs (Very Large Crude Carriers).

The entire terminal is expected to be completed in 2020.

Candid street and reportage photography from Glasgow, Scotland.

Captured these Gold Dust Day Geckos enjoying the nectar on these plants a few years back on the Big Island of Hawaii. Thought it would be nice to contrast them to my large lumpy lizards on the bayou. A bit more color in these little characters when compared to the gators.

The window install is not as invasive as I thought it would be and is rolling along smoothly. I’ll get to my comments as time permits.

The Guineafowl is a bird that I often see while travelling through farmland. I have seen them everywhere from Nova Scotia to Southern Ontario. They are quite an interesting farm bird.

I chose this photo to post to "Your Best Shot 2017" (www.flickr.com/groups/yourbestshot2017/)

This image represents an important event in the world in 2017 and also an important event in my life. I started my life as a political-and-social-activist at age 15, so it seemed appropriate to mark my 50+ years as an activist at age 71 by attending the Women's March in DC on Jan 21, 2017.

The women, men, and children at the march showed support for many issues, including the environment. This image ended up in Explore, so it was not only my favorite image from the event, but became the fave of many Flickr members, too.

Women's March - Washington DC, 01/21/17

This is one of my favorite signs that I saw in DC.

I don't allow downloads on my Flickr account, but if you want to use this photo (or others from the Women's March) in protest to the current administration or to use for civil rights (for everyone) issues, or to highlight environmental issues, send me a Flickr msg with your email and the title of my image. I'll send you a jpg file.

The woman holding the sign reminds me of one of my best friends in college. She's now, like me, in her 70's, but this reminds me of her during our college days.
