We camped at a friends farm for the eclipse in the Willamette valley outside Dallas, Oregon. This was part of the path of totality and was such an amazing experience to watch. I chose not to take pics of the eclipse with my camara but did use my phone during for the corona and used my big camera for people pics. The crescent shadows were fun to see!
We were granted a 5-10 second break in the blanket cloud over Ashford, Kent, but enough to get a few shots of the Sun smiling behind the Moon's back!

While I love the Nikkor 60mm as my day-to-day lens, it is not well suited to astrophotography. I imagine the 80-200 VR would be a much better selection.
Still, the requisite eclipse shot, just before absolute, complete orange. Best viewed big to see any detail.
