Splated Maple body cap. I was told by Mr. Simmons that this was His personal bass for a while, and that it had chrome hardware and a two band EQ. Someone wanted to buy it with black hardware and they didn't follow through. I liked the black, but asked Him to upgrade to the 3 band EQ, which He did. This is the one that is on his website...look closely at the spalting...this is how you can be sure.

We stopped at Gibside NT on the way up to Northumberland today and had to do a bit more bird photography! Lucky enough to see another Great Spotted Woodpecker, a nuthatch, a variety of tits and a treecreeper amongst many others ... a good day. Off to the pub now :-)
