I don't really like e-books, but I do like this e-book reading girl in the Vienna Stadtpark.

From my series "Well-Read Viennese Girls"

Guess What? I have a New Book that just launched, and you can get it now, in handy dandy eBook form. It's all about Beginning Photography and is mysteriously called "Beginning Photography." The aforementioned book is full of over 100 pages of awesomeness. I cover a wide range of topics from Setting up your Camera, to Composition to various styles of photography... Landscapes, Portraits and Animals, Architecture, Street, Astro/night, Mobile and more. I also show you how to organize your photos in Adobe Lightroom, plus a quick intro to my favorite... HDR Photography. Grab it at store.stuckincustoms.com/products/beginning-photography-e...

Forgive me Flickr friends for a moment of indulgence.

I've put together a photo eBook, but, unlike most, it doesn't teach settings of our machines or of composition.

My connection to nature was first increased through poetry, rather than through paintings or photographs. It seemed logical for me to combine the two, using the words of an unknown writer, but a likeminded individual.

Recently, the eBook received positive feedback, giving me the kick I needed to give it a bit more visibility.

If you are interested, there is more detail about the eBook and some sample pages on my website:

www.adp-photography.com/EBook

Or you can see the product page on my Gumroad site, though my site has more detail.

throughurizen.gumroad.com/l/sHVgP

I hope all Flickr friends won't find this moment of indulgence too intrusive, I won't post the image to groups of course. That'd be too spammy!

Please check out the eBook if you're interested!

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best wishes everyone, hope you have a great weekend.

Tony

My new e-book has been released! It took a deadline and a pandemic with a shelter-in-place order, but I've finally completed and released my new e-book, "Get Intimate: Making a Personal Statement with Intimate Landscapes." Published by Mother Nature Publishing, it is for photographers and anyone who wants to understand and appreciate what goes into making artful compositions.

In it, I share all I know about photography, art, and design to offer new ways of seeing the landscape and telling your visual story. From how to approach a subject to which compositional tools to use, you’ll be shown how to see differently, and to make images that are not only captivating, but also lasting, satisfying and a source of pride.

Whether you make photographs with your iPhone, DSLR, or mirrorless camera, create compositions with more emotional impact.

Redwoods, rhododendrons, and a fog rainbow, northern California, USA

This image was made during my recent workshop up in the redwoods along the northern California coast. Sun was breaking through the fog, and I could see a faint rainbow, or fogbow, where the sun was hitting the mist. You can see a hint of the rainbow's color just to the right of center.

This image was processed entirely in Lightroom 5. My latest ebook, Landscapes in Lightroom 5: The Essential Step-by-Step Guide, takes you through processing a variety of images in Lightroom. It includes eight video tutorials, and Raw files you can download to follow along:

Announcing the eBook version of Sky Crystals, THE resource for photographing and studying snowflakes!

skycrystals.ca/product/sky-crystals-unraveling-the-myster...

For the first time ever, Sky Crystals is introduced as a digital download and at a special sale price of $14.99. If you’ve ever wanted to reveal the magic of winter macro photography with your camera, this 304-page book reveals every technique I use for photographing snowflakes. No secrets held back!

As a FREE BONUS, you’ll also get a water droplet refraction primer to download, showing you how to turn water droplets into tiny lenses and reveal the hidden beauty of simple physics. If you have the equipment for snowflake photography, you’ve got almost everything you need for this additional photographic adventure!

The culmination of years of photography and study of snowflakes, this 304-page hardcover book will detail the science, photography and techniques, and even delve into why we find snowflakes beautiful. I keep the explanations easy to understand and graphic, but the science is fascinating and there are still many unanswered questions.

Considering this eBook is only one-third the cost of the hardcover version, this is an exceptional deal. Traveling some place remote with a good chance of snow? Load this PDF into iBooks / Google Play Books and keep it with you always. Originally written around a two-page spread design, you’ll be given links to download a single-page or spread-page layout, whichever works best for you.

Why Snowflakes?

Snowflakes: These tiny creations of winter have been a curiosity during most childhoods spent in Canada. As I grew up, I became less and less interested in these “trivial” curiosities, and only recently reconnected with them through the lens of my camera. As with most macro subjects, when photographing snowflakes there are many “what the heck is that?” moments as something mysterious is captured, and that childhood curiosity is reborn.

Using a steady hand, an old mitten, and freshly falling snow, you can produce an image worthy of sparking that childhood wonder in even the most jaded onlookers. Some people don’t believe my images are real, and that’s when I know I’ve created something worth talking about. Of course, some people simply think I’m crazy watching me take pictures of an old mitten in a snow storm.

Standing in frigid temperatures a meter away from comfort and warmth can be a daunting task. Using macro equipment that gives you incredibly little focus, it can be hard to even find a snowflake in the viewfinder. Freezing hands and shivering arms can make the situation worse. However, once you’ve got your first snowflake, you’ll smile at every snowfall from then on. But until you succeed, people will think you’re crazy for trying.

Forecasts predict an abundance of snow this year – I know I’ll be shooting every single snowfall. How about you?

Spending a few days in Washington, DC allowed me to try street photography for the first time. I've taken pictures of things and people were in the photograph but that wasn't the focus of the picture for me. Street photography like this brings out a different type of mindset in me. The goal is to capture the person in the setting that tells a story. Generally, I focus on something that doesn't "move" or is an athlete in motion but this genre challenges me. It forces me to think about spacing, shapes, shades, setting, story, and shadows since color isn't used to draw the eye in. In this version, I used selective coloring to highlight the eBook and the business; but in flic.kr/p/vVtrKn, I left it monochrome. Which do you like and why?

Of interest, and somewhat ironic, the business behind her is a closing Books-A-Million on Dupont Circle, Washington, DC

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to those of you who have bought my eBook. Afndy73 is the first person who bought my eBook on the day it was released.Shaffarullah is the second person who bought it and from that moment I was very busy emailing the eBooks. Currently, more than 100 orders within two month and it keep on coming...

Among other person who bought it that I can remember especially those who mention their website is Waja1197 , Eshazli , Mnj545 , Roi-Bo-Roi , Dominic , Azfiqs , Momokz , Roslee Karim , Azman Jumat , Awan Setiawan , Muhammad Fitri , Wan Kamal Azlan , Pencerita , Radinaminurasyid , Ejathelmy , Fazari , Syahril , Khairul Kamal , Abg Syuk , My , Yanto Jakarta , Mdianais , Putihandlush/ , Norhazlan , Amirul Azan , Sharin , Ubikaya , Ikhwan Muda , Taher Mado , Fuad Abdullah , Mohd Izuan , Arcivil24 , Fitri Jamsari

The are too many peoples to mention, I will keep on adding them here, once I get to know their website because some of them just give me their email address, so I don't know their website, most of the people that I mention there is among my close friends who already very good at their photoshop skills but still wanted to learn more from me, I'm really touch by their support...

**My eBook is not printed like the photo above, you have to print it yourself, my eBook is in PDF format. You can get my eBook HERE

If your camera equipment is good enough already, I think it is time for you to upgrade your knowledge, buying more camera equipment, is not going to help you much in order to improve your photography but investing in knowledge will definitely make a difference...
