Looking at Mud Bay Flats

Clever, I thought, and needed in more places. If you have a subscription or are a member you can switch out your tired battery here for a fresh one. It's only the company's batteries (popwheels) and presumably they are high quality batteries of low fire risk.

More here.

Ebike tour - Piran, Slovenia to Muggia, Italy

Ebiking on Lycabetus hill - Athens

Ready to roll!!! There are lots of great places to ride in the Okanagan Valley.

An electric bike that's built with trades people in mind. If a small fridge could be run on this it would make an epic ice cream vendor's velocipede!

Covid-19 semi lockdown makes us walk

My E-bike is made in Amsterdam. It is a Vanmoof Electrified, and I love the design and riding it in Oslo.

Went for a wee cycle along the A93, Braemar to Glenshee road and stopped off to admire the view up the Glen towards Craig a' Mhadaidh

There seemed to be quite a few ebikes and escooters available in Rome from a few different suppliers.

Covid-19 semi lockdown makes us walk

What a strange couple of months.

Last year a friend of mine and his wife bought an eBike each. I took one for a quick spin and it was a great experience. I decided to look for one and had a test ride in a proper bike shop, a ride on one someone I know was selling and decided to buy one of these Vitesse bikes as two of my old school friends had bought them. Mrs K and I went to a large retailer and pushed an already built up one to the check out and they refused to sell it to us with no detailed explanation as to why not but the hint was it was they way someone had built them up. So we went online and paid for delivery and it duly arrived. I built it up and after removing the protective packaging found it had the wrong brakes, gears and forks on! The retailer queried it with the importer who just didn’t seem interested in resolving the issue. Anyway we came to what I will call a satisfactory compromise and I kept it. This week it all came clear why they couldn’t give a flying **** - they’ve gone bust holding stock of 35000 bikes worth £25000000 apparently. Yikes.

I’ve been able to use it for a few weeks now and it’s great.

I didn’t buy it as an economy measure but I reckon I’ve saved £50 in petrol/gasoline costs as well as doing some journeys quicker than in the car due to Manchester rush hour traffic. One morning Google Maps showed it as 23 minutes in the car and I did it in 21 - only doing about 150 metres on roads with traffic on. I’ve used about half that to buy those funky and amazing DMR Deathgrips.

It is good exercise too. Some people think eBikes don’t need pedalling but UK legislation means that if you stop pedalling - you just stop! The motor gives ‘assistance’ - stick it in Assistance Level 5 though and you can laugh at hills and inclines and whizz past younger, fitter people on ordinary pedal bikes. Sometimes it makes me feel like Lance Armstrong (ooh wait a minute, that’s probably not a good example).

I guess with the company going bust I might struggle with warranty issues but I paid relatively little for it that I’m not too concerned apart from the fact it might be difficult to get a replacement battery in the future.

I recently Bought a Sondors Ebike at Indiegogo campaign, this was my first real spending at $650 - Its been fitted with super led lights in preparation for Burning Man 2015. What a fantastic, smooth riding bike! 20mph with a distance range of 50miles.

For many years I have ridden road bikes and pushed the pedals. I recently "upgraded" to a battery assist ebike. Fair enough at my age OBE
