The choice for one over the other is very controversial and even experts disagree in their recommendations.

The main difference between sparkling and still water is in the bubbles which makes it slightly more acidic. The acidity of sparkling water is claimed to affect the teeth enamel; however, studies have not demonstrated this. Also, sparkling water makes you feel fuller when compared to still water. .

My recommendation is the following:

.

- if you are replacing sodas like cola with sparkling water, then you are definitely doing good for your body.

.

- Choose a variety of sparkling water that is high in minerals, free from sugar and artificial sweeteners, flavorings and colors and add fresh fruits for natural sweetness. .

- In all cases, keep still water as your main source of hydration until science clarifies the real effects of consuming sparkling water as the main source of hydration.
