The biggest problem is that there's no support for this (which others complain about, so I knew this up front). I really just needed a NAS, but those are either USB (meaning I have to have another computer on all the time) or pricey, so I opted for this. it's nice, small and all, very quiet. It seems to "pause" every 8-10 minutes for about 30 seconds. and I can't connect to it very well from my Vista machine. Vista errors on the login about 50 to 60% of the time, but my XP machine connects to it without any issues at all, so it must be something with Vista (nothing new there, vista is terrible). As for the pausing, when copying files or anything, it just locks up for about 20 to 30 seconds every 8 to 10 minutes. I disabled the McAfee that comes with it and that helped (it was doing it about every 1 to 2 minutes, and for about 60 seconds at a time). If I could figure out this one issue, I'd probably give it a 5. It is a pretty handy device, and I've added one extra hard drive, very easy to do. I don't know if the pausing is the system, or WHS, can't find anyone else with this problem yet.

I installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS to my Acer easyStore h340 hardware. With some older eSATA drives on the software RAID10, the sustainable throughput is clocked at around 60MB/sec.

Setup was easy and I like the ability in Windows HS to designate folders to mirror. After about 1 month I've had no issues. The transfer of files took much longer than expected from my home PC. There is a huge performance difference between 1 20 gig file and 20,000 files that equal 20 gigs. The 20,000 files transfer took 6 hours longer that the single 20 gig file. I believe you will find this the same will all the NAS's out there.
