A very changeable day - it was raining when I walked to the subway, overcast when I arrived at my destination and then a few minutes of blue skies and sunshine before the clouds moved back in and the wind picked up.
The Hell Gate Bridge is in the foreground; the RFK Bridge (formerly Triborough Bridge) is in the background; NYC is behind that. The photo was taken from Astoria Park. The Hell Gate Bridge is a railroad bridge across the East River connecting Queens and Randalls and Wards Islands in Manhattan.

Walking towards the south end of the island just before the Frankland Delano Roosevelt monument, here are the racks of Citi bikes with a New York City barge on the east river in the background. The buildings in the background are the east side of Manhattan in the 50s.

The Manhattan Bridge is a suspension bridge that crosses the East River in New York City, connecting Lower Manhattan at Canal Street with Downtown Brooklyn. The bridge designed by Leon Moisseiff and built in 1909. The bridge's total length is 6,855 ft (2,089 m).
