Hoodoos take millions of years to form and stand 5 to 7 metres tall. Each hoodoo is a sandstone pillar resting on a thick base of shale that is capped by a large stone. Hoodoos are very fragile and can erode completely if their capstone is dislodged (in other words, no climbing allowed). The protected Hoodoos site is a guaranteed spot to see Hoodoos but smaller versions of these sandstone giants can be found all over the Badlands.

This view is looking east somewhere off the A79 heading north of and not far from the town of Sea Lake in Victoria, Australia.
It is just after 6.30 am and I have walked through an open farm gate and stand about 100 metres inside the boundary fence, taking in this wonderful scene with not a house or a building to be seen anywhere.
it is freezing cold and the layer of fog and mist is struggling to hold back the sunrise whilst diffused sunlight bounces off the overhead clouds, highlighting sections of the growing crop and the grasses and also begins modelling the landscape.

This is the Rosedale East Mines calcining kilns and iron mines where the ore was transported away on the Ironstone Railway In the North Yorkshire Moors National Park
Relics of the entire mining and refining process and the communities that worked there still remain at East kilns. Two monumental sets of calcining kilns can be seen for miles from across the valley. A chimney stands high on the moor and near-derelict cottages show that this was once a bustling centre of the industry with several hundred people working and living on the hillside

Situated in the Carmichael estate, Lanark, the Carmichael family have been in existence since the 1300AD but this house was built in the 16th century after the two parts of the Carmichael family split around 1500AD. The first reference to the house was on the ordnance maps dated 1654AD, The house went through some structural changes up until 1789AD. During the war in 1940 it housed the Polish army stationed in the area. The last member of the family Richard Carmichael inherited the house in 1980 but due to extensive dry rot all efforts to save this house failed & it fell into dereliction from that moment on.
Montana Rail Link's Missoula yard switcher backs through Hellgate Canyon on the east side of town after running to Bonner to switch local industries on September 16, 2022. Due to the backup move, the switcher will usually bring the caboose with it, reminiscent of the good old days in Missoula.
The East Warf Lighthouse on Lake Hefner in Oklahoma city was based off of the second oldest lighthouse in the country located in Brant Point, MA. Even though this lighthouse does not stand on the coast, it is built to withstand the many tornados that dance across Oklahoma every year. It is functional flashing a red light pattern.

Yesterday me, Tracey & Herbie, along with another couple popped over to Yorkshire to see this National Trust property.
The weather was good too, T shirt & shorts weather even though I took my cagoule as we expected rain.

Amsterdam - Buiksloterdijk / Buiksloterweg.
The "Oosteinde (east end)" of Buiksloot village.
Buiksloot was a separate municipality until 1921, when it merged with Amsterdam.
In 1928 Oosteinde and Westeinde were renamed in Buiksloterdijk.
