I'm knitting an ear warmer for my niece's 6th birthday, coming up in a few weeks. It's super soft and fluffy... she's 100% girl, so I chose yarn with muted pinks, purples and gray and added another strand of fun yarn that has fuzzy white puffs in it... kinda reminds me of snow (for the winter without snow - ha). :-)

While we are on the subject of word play, this is the Season for your Ugg Boots and fluffy Ear-Warmers to fight off the cold of winter. A small shop in Melbourne Central will have these things for sale. Retail is king in these shopping centres and there were plenty of customers in some shops. Particularly in the high end shops where promotions or other requirements mean customers queue outside the store and only a few people are let in at a time. With the FFM.

i'm getting the knitting bug again.... got all my stuff out last night, along with my favorite needles (they're maple, i think). now i just need to come up with something to make (why is that always the hardest part for me?... ha). :-)

Update: Thanks for all the suggestions. I found a really cute pattern for a "Braided Cable Headwarmer/Earwarmer", so I'm going to give that a try (and yes, I'll share some status photos for those who wanted to see what I'm making). Socks will be next after the earwarmer... still searching for patterns. :-)

I had so much fun with this one!!!

I braided the scarf, crafted the tiny earmuff for the little pepper and took the picture. But as I was about to post, it occurred to me that maybe the word "chilly" and "chilli" could be used differently from one country to another. And my research got me more confused than before. hahahahaha

If you look for the word "chilly" in the "images" section of a search engine a bunch of peppers will show up. But according to the dictionary the pepper is called "chili pepper" (also chile pepper or chilli pepper).

So could someone hep me, please? Can I call a pepper "chilly" or not? hahahaha

These unique crochet upcycled earwarmers are made of mixed wool and soft acrylic yarns, the violet one is recycled. The multicolor pastel hearts have magenta-peach-pink circle centers bordered with cute violet for the contrast, all crocheted around the pale pink plush base I've found in a second hand shop.

I designed the delicate heart shape inspired by Bunny Mummy's Sunburst Granny Hearts and in the following months I will abuse of it! XD I LOVE crocheting hearts!
