Karnavedha Samskara – Hindu Baby Ear Piercing rite at Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Srirangam, Tamil Nadu State, India

The ear-piercing ceremony, given to both boys and girls, performed in the temple or the home, generally on the child's first birthday. Health and wealth benefits derive from this ancient rite.

Brian probably did not leave the house in a rush that morning. He was all dressed up to scare some people and attract my attention.

I also took group shots with his friends, check them in JeromesPOF: Brian's Friends and Hands Up

Taken on Queen's Day (Koninginnedag), a holiday celebrating the Queen's birthday, Netherlands, Amsterdam, 2009.

More Queen's Day impressions can be found in a big set of this day in JeromesPOF.

Some of my best shots of Queen's Day 2009 will be posted here, in JeromesPOV

I think this is what I'll be terming my 'bitch ear'. Pierced the same time as the right lobe (24 years ago), it's always been a little more sensitive than the right, reacting to suspect jewellery more quickly and on a couple of occasions tried to close up after extended periods with no jewellery. It easily takes a couple of the silver loops with thin wires, but the hole has always seemed smaller than the right lobe's.

I slid the 14G in over a couple of hours lubricating using some stretching oil I bought from Arka which contains Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower Oil), Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender Oil), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Melaleuca Viridiflora (Niaouli) and Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree Oil).

It was definitely a tight fit which is why I didn't push it straight through immediately - there was a slight burning sensation as the hole was stretched and it was a little sore for a few days. This is the fourth day since stretching and it's now feeling fine, but the first couple of days I was careful about touching it. I've done sea salt soaks every day followed by massaging the lobe with the stretching oil, and now the crescent turns easily in the hole, in fact it fell out yesterday because I hadn't felt the need to use the o-rings to keep it in place up until then.

I'm planning on giving it at least a month before moving onto the next size, and I'll be holding off on stretching the right lobe until the left has caught up with it.

May baby turned 7 and got her ears pierced.

This is Azad Hussain my silve smith , he burns a pure silver wire, than pushes it into my ear lobe, both ends are than entwined to make a rounded earring..

I tried this process with the machine too, but does not work for me..

The pain subsides after a day, I pour coconut oil on the lobe..

After a few weeks I remove the wire and place a neem stick..

Later I insert my funky stud earrings.

I have to clean my earrings a weekly Sunday affair, place them in savlon..

My ear holes inspite of all the care get infected due to dust and my diabetic condition..

this is at my tailoring shop..non commercial photoblogging sop...

My apologys for the poor quality of this pic but i shot a few at iso 800-1600 in the arches and moved the dial to tv i am such an armature

That ear thing looks painful. He maybe a werewolf, he has furry wrist.

Industrial piercings. Ear lobes streted to 8 gauge, 10 gauge, and 12 gauge.

Painful Desires Tattoo & Piercing Studio did all five tats here.

No its not as bad as you think its a new attraction in Camden market , you pay to sit on the side of a big tank in the shop front and i think the fish eat the dead shin on your feet , this girl though it tickled and found it quite nice i did not ask how much it cost perhaps next time i visit..
