2/15/16: App Time demonstrations for all Early Childhood educators in PISD for edcamp
Musician and teaching artist Elias Schutzman visited children, their parents, and their caregivers at the Judy Center at Halls Cross Roads Elementary School. The class spent time learning and growing together with music and fun as part of a Baby Artsplay!â„¢ residency.

Mawozini Crèche is in phase 2 repairs.
Proposed work at the centre includes:
- Additional classroom - the existing facility caters for 46 children, the attendance is just more than the number of children catered for in the existing facility;
- Repairs: the existing is in a relatively good condition, a door needs replacement, 4 locksets need replacing, a number of window panes need replacing, the apron requires repair.
- Fencing - the facility is fenced, however, the area is insufficient, particularly if an additional classroom is required. It is proposed that the area is extended and that the fence is repaired where required.
- Health & Safety: The centre also requires a fire extinguisher, first aid box, safety signage, and a fenced waste pit.
- Toilet facility: The centre has 2 toilet facilities which are both in a relatively poor condition. It is proposed that the face brick facility is repaired and used as a teacher’s toilet, and a new small facility built for the learners, with a new disabled unit included.
- A gutter downpipe is required.
- Play equipment: The facility has play equipment. Some of this equipment is in need of repair. A new shade cloth covering for the play area is required.
- Estimate costs for repairs: R 334 570
