Arts for Learning Early Learning Teaching Artists participated in a week-long professional development course with Master Teaching Arts from Wolf Trap. It was an awesome day for the kids.

Cooking the favorite snack Pizza was awesome.
They also had a great time learning about phonic 'P' vocabulary and tracing phonic 'P'.
Opening the treasure words box was mind refreshing.
Star constellation was also very informative.
The kids acting like hairdressers and being customers during the
pretend play was so much fun.
Basic mathematics at this level strengthens their cognitive reasoning. Kids learnt how to count balls
and put in their respective boxes.
The lego legends used lego blocks to make out the shapes and finally reviewed phonic 'A'.

Today's session was about trees. What kind of animals live in trees? What are the parts of a tree? How do trees change depending on the time of year? How do leaves from different trees look?
There would have been thousand thoughts in their little brains when engaging themselves in the experiments.
How?… Why?… When?… Where?… What?… etc.,
That is how brains are stimulated and neural connections are made.

Our Science Surfers experiments are always astonishing
and kids were indeed surprised with density tower they made today.
They also enjoyed collaging the UAE national flag craft.
Basketball during their outdoor play was awesome.
Kids enjoyed circle time reviewing numbers and Phonics.
They acted as mail carriers delivering White Fields mails during pretend play.
They were very surprised to see how Pepsi drink exploded after adding baking soda during the science experiment.
It was a great day for us at White fields Nursery.

Performing artists trained with Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts and Arts for Learning Maryland to become the newest cohort of Early Childhood teaching artists for Arts for Learning. The artists modeled lessons highlighting their art forms for their peers at Arts for Learning at Goodnow.
