The picture is not of best quality. It was taken from a distance with a 28-135mm fitted but I could not resist trying to catch it anyway. (:-D
Best seen in Large. Thanks.

This bald eagle presented a nice pair of angel wings as it was leaving its nest. (Haliaeetus leucocephalus)
This eagle is around 3 years old. Notice the bands on it's legs. The green band means that it is from New Jersey.
The Bald Eagle has been the national emblem of the United States since 1782 and a spiritual symbol for native people for far longer than that. These regal birds aren’t really bald, but their white-feathered heads gleam in contrast to their chocolate-brown body and wings. Look for them soaring in solitude, chasing other birds for their food, or gathering by the hundreds in winter. Once endangered by hunting and pesticides, Bald Eagles have flourished under protection.
The 3 photos in this series were taken at 3 different times. It seems the eagle has taken to these firs, and likes to perch at the very top. In the second shot, the eagle has bent its left wing forward to preen it better, thereby exposing more of its white tail feathers than we normally get to see!
A little gory. but I have never got an Eagle shot like this before.
This Eagle was perched on a power pole near the grain terminal eating a Pigeon. It was being harassed by several Magpies. At this point it decided to go elsewhere to dine in peace.
At the terminal site we usually see Eagles eating Pigeons they robbed from the Falcons. There was no Falcon activity, so I don't know how this one acquired the Pigeon.

We have seen the Eagle nest when we have been to the Crowley Nature Park before, but never the Eagle. She was sitting right out in plan sight and we did not have our long lenses. We had to settle for what we had.

Perched near her nest on a tall tree in the early morning light, this Bald Eagle could survey the small lake at Magee Marsh, Ohio.
Image taken on a private charter on board the Lady Jayne on Loch Tuath on the Isle of Mull. It was a privilege to be able to get so close to such a spectacular bird of prey.
Many thanks to everyone that takes the time to view and comment on my images - very much appreciated.
After watching this two slightly immature eagles fight over this stump space I think I can say that, like the quantum mechanical Pauli exclusion principle, this proves that two eagles cannot occupy the same space on a stump simultaneously. Of course this violates the Schrodinger's cat thought experiment that tries to illustrate the absurdity of applying quantum theory to the macro-physical world, but hey, even that appears to be in question these days...
