This overlook of round valley (includes the towns of Eager and Springerville) gives the best view of this beautiful country. The monsoon clouds don't hinder the photo either :)

Quote - Cesar Millan
Painted buntings occur in two geographically distinct breeding populations: a western population that ranges from northwest Florida to Texas, including Oklahoma and parts of Mexico; and an eastern population limited to coastal areas from North Carolina to northern Florida, and inland along large rivers. Two subspecies are recognized based on geographic distribution, migration patterns and timing of molt (shedding of feathers). Painted buntings in Franklin, Gulf, Bay and Wakulla counties of the Florida Panhandle may be an expansion of the western subspecies or an overlap of occurrence. Genetic studies are needed to determine the range of the two subspecies, or if they are so dissimilar that two separate species should be designated. Florida is the only state with a breeding and wintering population.
Painted Buntings are eagerly awaited winter visitors. The males’ brilliant colors contrast strongly with the more demure green females, but both are pretty secretive, so not that easy to spot in foliage. While the females exclusively feed the young in the nest, males take over feeding once a second brood is started. Northeast Florida’s coastal areas are home to the state’s largest breeding population, where singing males can be found between April and August.
I found this male in Polk County, Florida.
I was so eager to make holiday figures...So I made that little snowman out of clay, ribbons, and glitter! :)
Uhm what's next? Maybe a gingerbread man? Yes :)
VERY happy because it made EXPLORE!!!!
Thanks everyone for viewing, commenting, and adding as favorite!
Eager to try out my new 10 stop ND filter, I set out early to a spot I could only get to at low tide. Was very happy with the results I was getting with the filter. All of sudden I see a sail boat approaching, removed the filter for a quicker exposure of the boat. This is a blend of two different exposures.

One of the sweetest nature sounds our ears get to hear now in late winter when we go for an early morning walk is the northern cardinal's wonderful whistled song. These colorful guys stand up at the top of the tallest trees around and start whistling away with a very cheerful tune. Most times these carolers will be calling out "what cheer, what cheer, what, what what" or "birdy, birdy birdy" as those notes carry far across the countryside and hopefully hit the ears of female cardinals eager to find a good husband.

In Germany, Regierungspräsident (district president, abbreviation RP) is the job title of the head of a federal state authority in the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, and North Rhine-Westphalia.
The jurisdiction of the authority defines a certain administrative division (Regierungsbezirk). The office holders are political civil servants, meaning they can be removed from their office by the government without reasons, and are appointed by the Minister President of the respective federal state.

Yesterday's post in a larger context.
I don't know if they have a building inspector in Quadeville, but that electrical wiring does not seem up to code to me, heh heh. It seems that someone has fallen onto hard times here.
So, what's special about Quadeville? Well, they do have a Pentecostal church, and a sign in the window of the chip 'n' poutine shop across the road from this place indicated that they are eager to save our souls.
There is also The Beryl Pit (Quadeville East Mine) owned by a company called Aquarose, where for a fee rock-hounds can look for and collect beryl. Collection permits may be purchased at Quadeville's MacEwen gas station where they will also give you directions to The Pit. - www.mindat.org/loc-6641.html
But, Quadeville's biggest claim to fame is that Al Capone's Canadian hideout is alleged to have been in the area. We did ask for directions, and tried to find it, to no avail, however. Here's a link to the blog of someone who apparently did find it and photographed it for posterity: simpsonecofarms.blogspot.ca/2014/09/al-capone-hideout-in-...
"Perfect" flowers will have structures called stamens that produce the pollen. A stamen consists of the anthers where the pollen is made and filaments which support the anther. Perfect flowers will also have the female reproductive structures called the pistil. Thus, a perfect flower may be described as bisexual or hermaphroditic.

"""This Santa is preforming his task by educating the young reindeer how they should run on gras, when there is not snow at all! It happens more and more these days, that they have to travel through areas under different weather conditions.
As you can see, they are good listeners and also eager to start their actually training on the gras. Santa's sleigh with the big bag is already on standby."""
These origami models are all designed by Jo Nakashima, except for the bag, which is a traditional origami Waterbomb. And he has made a video-tutorial for all the models:

On a crisp December morning, the small town of Dürrnberg, perched high above Hallein in the shadow of the Salzburg Alps, was shrouded in a mystic fog. The world seemed split in two. Above, the skies were an infinite expanse of serene blue, promising warmth that would never quite reach the earth. Below, the fog clung stubbornly to the ground, curling through the narrow streets and wrapping the town in an ethereal embrace.
Winter was making its slow but inevitable descent. Light snow dusted the roofs of the town's chalets and coated the edges of the steep paths that wound up the hillsides. The mountains, ancient sentinels in the distance, wore their first true mantle of the season, their peaks catching the early sunlight and glowing faintly golden.
In the heart of the fog, the world was quiet. The soft crunch of boots on fresh snow was muffled, as though the air itself were holding its breath. The church bell in the town square rang faintly, its echoes swallowed by the mist before they could stretch out to the valleys below.
A young girl named Lena wandered through the town, her cheeks pink with the cold and her breath forming little clouds before her. She clutched a wooden sled, eager to find the perfect slope, even as the fog obscured her path. Her laughter rang out as she slid down a gentle incline, the sound a spark of life in the otherwise subdued landscape.
But as the morning wore on, the sun began its patient work, burning through the veil of fog. Slowly, like a curtain being drawn back, the town emerged. First, the pointed spire of the church; then the clustered houses with their sloping roofs; finally, the far-off hills and fields. The fog retreated into the valleys, leaving behind a glistening world, every branch and blade of grass sparkling with frost.
Lena stood at the edge of town, her sled forgotten. The scene before her was magical: the snow, the sparkling frost, and the deep blue sky all combining in a tableau of winter's quiet beauty. She felt, for a moment, as though she were the only person in the world.
In the distance, the Alps loomed, timeless and serene. Winter had arrived in Dürrnberg, and it seemed to whisper promises of snow-covered adventures and the warmth of hearth-lit evenings.

... every two months, my Provincial Health Authority of Messina (Sicily) sends me on a mission for three days (from Taormina) to the Civil Hospital of Lipari, located in via Saint Anne ... In my spare time, free from commitments of work, I dedicate myself to my photographic passion; the photographs I present here were all taken in February of this year 2022; I took photos according to the dictates of street photography, I made some portraits, having always met people in the hand and very willing to let themselves be photographed (maybe ... that the islanders are open-minded, eager and used to communicate with strangers ..?!), some portraits were made of people intent on their work, some fishermen were intent on repairing their nets, a lady showed me one of her beautiful work, a blanket she made with knitting needles , hanging on her balcony (it reminded me of the shawls my grandmother made, also made with hand knitting needles); all the photos were taken in the city of Lipari, except three, taken in the dark in the port of Milazzo, the port of departure and arrival with hydrofoils (but there is also the ship) for the Aeolian Islands.
Saw this beautiful bike and loved the way it looked sitting there. I’ve had several hot bikes and (to me) they always look as though they can’t wait to get going and to go as fast as possible on the way there. I speak as an authority on the subject.
