The day after Diwali delivered good results for the Hindi market exhibitors, with four films.

Ram Setu, Thank God, Kantara, and Black Adam – achieving single-day sales in the region of Rs 30 crore.

The numbers and rhythms are nowhere near the actual potential of the film business on this day.

But it's still far superior to what happened at the box office over Eid and Independence Day weekends this year.

So that's a fair collective result the day after Diwali.

It was Akshay Kumar's Ram Setu who led the race in the opening day's collection of Rs 15 crore marks.

The film got good occupancy on the mass belt, but average usage on subways and multiplexes.

What helped the film business to some extent was the tier 2 and tier 3 markets, along with the holiday factor.

A loyal supporter of Akshay Kumar in movie watcher's second choice for this festive season was Thank God directed by Indra Kumar, starring Ajay Devgan, Sidharth Malhotra, and Rakul Preet Singh.

It's hard to say it's a full Ajay Devgn movie, but it's hard to get out of it, and it plays an important role.

Traditionally Devgan's supporting roles, along with Salman Khan in Antim and Akshay Kumar in Atrangi Re, have always been part of treasured filmography.

Comic book sales rose to around Rs 800 crore and day one business came mainly from multiplexes.

I just finished collecting all 8 of the WWE cups at 7-11. Taking a picture of them shows my lack of creativity for today. I didn’t like how the photo(s) turned out and I should have spent more time on them. That’s the lazy part. The bottom cups look a little blurry. That’s partially my fault but they are the type of cups where the picture changes when you turn it, so it’s not going to get much better anyways.
