Mom's feather duster....

A 1973 Plymouth Duster that was for sale near the highway.

Taken at Elmore, Victoria in 2016.

Definately one of my favourite Majorette models at the moment is this Dacia Duster. I love the new range of unpretentious Dacia vehicles and since they were recently introduced to the U.K. they have already become a common sight on our roads. This Majorette version is really well detailed and even features an opening tailgate. Mint and boxed.

Horrendous generic cheapo model of a nondescript SUV by HTI for one Pound or a highly detailed and fully licensed model of a very successful European budget SUV for the same price? Erm...think I will go with latter please and thats pretty much what everyone else thought when this Majorette Dacia Duster appeared on the pegs of Poundworld back in 2016 along with other castings from this great toy company. Truly unbeatable value for money when you consider its full fat detailing, opening parts, springy suspension and a glossy metallic finish so lustrous you can almost see your own reflection in ;-)

Mint and boxed.

Sorodz duster costs £40 it dusts under things very well

Plymouth’s best selling car in the 1970 model year was the Duster, with 217,000 examples sold. Competing against the Ford Maverick, AMC Hornet and Chevrolet Vega, it remained in production until 1976.

An Ayres Thrush crop duster at Pierce Airport in Buckeye, AZ. Such a fun looking plane with that long, long view down the nose & sitting way back behind the wings like that. Makes me think of stylings on Lego airplanes I mashed together from salvaged blocks when I was a kid.

The Red Duster flutters proudly on the Stern of Pacific Heron as 37218 shunts 6X23 into the Barrow Marine Terminal on 6 October 2016. The Highly Active Waste carried in the flasks is bound for Switzerland as part of the NDA’s Vitrified Residue Returns Programme.

Hope I was standing far enough away.

The Dacia Duster is a compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) produced jointly by the French manufacturer Renault and its Romanian subsidiary Dacia since 2010. It is also marketed as the Renault Duster in certain markets, such as India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia, Mexico, Egypt, South Africa, Ukraine, the UAE and in South America. It is also rebadged as the Nissan Terrano in Russia and India. It was officially launched at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show and is the third model based on the Logan platform, after the Sandero.

I took this snapshot of an M42 Duster on Fire-base Candy in April 1970. The Army was using them close the Cambodian border. Our infantry company traveled with number of armored vehicles for a few days and this Duster was one of them. They were also used on Fire-base Buttons as a defensive weapon on the berm.

Each of those two, 40 mm cannons on the turret fired high explosive rounds at a rate of 120 rounds per minute. Above the 40 mm barrels you can see that it had an M60 machine gun as well.

In 1952, when GM first started building them, it was designed to be an anti-aircraft gun. They were retired in the late fifties with the introduction of HAWK SAM missile systems. Only 3,700 were built. Duster's were sent to Vietnam for low altitude air defense but North Vietnam never did use aircraft. So we used them on unarmored enemy forces. I'm surprised we got away with firing the weapon directly at human beings. I would have thought the Geneva Convention would have had something to say about it.

I was surprised to learn that it required a crew of six men. The vehicle weighed 25 tons loaded. It was about 19 feet long, 10 feet wide and 9 feet high. A 500 horsepower gasoline engine could get it up to a top speed of 45 MPH. Finally it had a range of about 100 miles on a tank of gasoline.

Also hydroseeder and firefighter depending on payload.

Foods from 1957. Anyone remember these?

I've been trying for quite some time to capture a crop duster at work over the Palouse. I've seen them often in the distance but there just never seemed a way to get close. Last Spring I was finally successful. I watched the plane pass very near me and make pass after pass with military precision over the fields. Why did I constantly think of the film North by NorthWest?

Anyway watch out what you wish for because I ended up with a darn headache for the next 30 minutes.
