Far Horizons
From here you can see eight Fathom Five islands, the sites of five shipwrecks, the small flowerpot on Flowerpot Island, and the guarding glance, every five seconds, of the Cove Island lighthouse. Also, you see water to the horizon, a unique freshwater experience that is only possible in about 70 lakes in the world.
Escarpment Continues
The mouth of Georgian Bay has 'teeth'...islands and shoals that mark the Niagara Escarpment's crossing to Manitoulin Island.
Another Niagara Falls
On the lake bottom between here and the closest island is the site of an ancient falls. When water levels were low and people could almost walk to Manitoulin Island, a large river plunged over the escarpment with more water than Niagara Falls. Now, water wells up here creating a rich environment for a variety of lake dwellers.

Community day at ABC charter school in Petworth. They had several events for the kids, I went to check it out since I live down the street and got these shots.

Dunker Church was originally built in 1852 on land donated by Samual Mumma by the German Baptist Brethren. They were known as Dunkers or Dunkards for their practice of baptism by full immersion. The Dunkers were pacifists who believed in simplicity and modesty, which included not placing a steeple on their meeting place. The church was the the center of some of the hardest fighting at Antietam, its whitewashed walls an objective visible through the gun smoke. During and after the battle the church became a haven for the wounded.
The church survived the battle but was destroyed by a storm in 1921. Its materials were stored and preserved. For many years a lunch stand catering to battlefield visitors stood on the foundations. For the 100th anniversary of the battle in 1962 the church was rebuilt and restored to its 1860s appearance using many of the original materials.

Gestern hat es wieder geregnet, erst mal noch Bilder von vorgestern. Ob man heute wenigstens das Finale nicht in der Halle spielen kann?
Leider sind dieses Jahr die beiden deutschen Spieler Tesfaldet und Nils nicht wieder gekommen :-(
