Dune at Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. Photo taken at a distance (miles) from Chimney Corners Resort property on Lake Michigan. The dune is 450 feet tall. (Black and white crop.)

A wild time we had there weather wise on this day, and made for some nice colors there with the wet sand in southern Utah.

The dunes of Julianadorp on a sunny summer evening. On top of the dunes one of the WWII bunkers of the Atlantikwall. These dark remains of the war built by the "Organisation Todt" can be found almost everywhere along the European West Coast. A silent reminder that peace is something worth to work for. Sosussvlei claims to have the highest dunes in the oldest desert in the world. I don't know if that's true or not, but I do know they are spectacular. This photo shows some of the smaller dunes. More to come.
