A bull and cow elk seem to be performing a duet during the rut in Rocky Mountain National Park.
My bighorn sheep post yesterday served as a reminder that I haven't done a North American Ungulate series lately. So here we go.

These two statues support one of the balconies of the gatehouse of the palace of Lorraine's Dukes in Nancy. The faces are marked by the effort. The man on the left wears sandals and a period costume, very well represented. The woman on the right is obviously a black women. She is barefoot and wears a loincloth. His head has a curious headdress that seems to be made of feathers.

Ces deux statues soutiennent un des balcons de la porterie du palais des Ducs de Lorraine à Nancy. Les visages sont marqués par l'effort. L'homme à gauche porte des sandales et un habit d'époque, fort bien représentés. La femme à droite est manifestement noire. Elle est pieds nus et porte un pagne. Sa tête a une coiffe curieuse qui semble faite de plumes.
